What an amazing experience taking our IPROWD students from the Redfern and Dubbo cohorts to the NSW Police Academy.

Every student brought their own unique story, aspirations and strengths. Watching them engage, learn and support one another was a powerful reminder of why this work matters. I feel incredibly blessed to be part of their journey and to witness their growth and potential firsthand.

A huge shout out to Kim from AEET, who has truly made IPROWD her own, Bianca for her cultural and emotional support (and plenty of comedy relief!), and Bronwyn for putting together an outstanding and action-packed timetable.

Proud of our students, grateful for our team, and excited to see what comes next for these young people♥️👣✨🌈🚔

Newcastle City Police District will be hosting our next Police and Aboriginal Community Consultative (PACC) meeting.

Time: 3:00 PM
Location: PCYC Newcastle — Corner Young & Melbourne Streets, Broadmeadow NSW

Our Aboriginal Community Liaison Officer and local police representatives will be in attendance. This is a great opportunity to come along, have your say, and connect with local police and community members in a respectful and supportive environment.

Young participants from the 'Strong Choices Strong Kids' Fit for Change program had an unforgettable experience last week, meeting NSW Blues players ahead of State of Origin.

The visit gave local Aboriginal children the opportunity to connect with positive role models and learn about teamwork, respect, discipline and making positive choices.

Programs like this play an important role in supporting Aboriginal young people through cultural connection, building resilience and strengthening relationships between youth, police and community.

A big thank you to the NSW Blues for taking the time to support and inspire our young people while helping build stronger communities.
