Nyrstar Hobart is really proud to be a member of 26TEN - Tasmania's campaign for adult literacy - a growing network of organisations and individuals working hard together to improve adult literacy and numeracy in Tasmania.
It might astonish you to know this, but almost one in two Tasmanian adults has difficulty with everyday literacy tasks such as filling in forms, paying bills, following instructions and reading to their children.
Yesterday we were pleased to host Glenorchy’s 26TEN Community of Practice May meeting at our Hobart Zinc Works. Next week we’ll welcome 26TEN onsite again to roll out Adult Literacy Awareness Workshops for our Team Leaders so they can learn how to help our personnel access the tools and resources to improve their skills.
