Sunassist Volunteer Helpers Inc. Sunassist is a not for profit community organisation which commenced providing services to the elderly and disabled in the Mildura community in 1981.

As Sunassist has grown, the organisation has broadened its scope to ‘’assist people to live as independently as possible in the community by providing a range of support services’’. Sunassist has over 300 fantastic and dedicated volunteers who provide the range of support services to the elderly, disabled and young people in the community. These services include Meals on Wheels, Community Transpor

t, Assisted Shopping, Friendly Visiting, Phoneassist and the L2P Learner Driver Mentor program. As the need for Sunassist services continues to increase with the ageing population and the growing needs of the community, the volunteer hours Sunassist volunteers provide to the community is increasing significantly each year. Small volunteer based organisations with limited funding like Sunassist face overwhelming pressures due to increased regulation, service demands and administration costs. To ensure its future, Sunassist must plan and build partnerships to create a stronger organisation which will ensure the continued provision of essential services to the Sunraysia community for many years to come.

Sunassist is seeking a caring and reliable person to support children and young people travelling from New South Wales to Mildura Specialist School.

The position involves morning and afternoon school travel on designated school days. Training will be provided, and relevant employment and child-safety checks will be required.
