𝐄𝐧𝐝 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐁𝐮𝐬𝐡 𝐅𝐢𝐫𝐞 𝐃𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐫 𝐏𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐨𝐝

The Bush Fire Danger Period across the Mid-Western Regional Council LGA ended at midnight last night.

While landholders no longer require a fire permit, you are still required to notify the and your neighbours at least 24 hours before lighting a fire. To notify the RFS, please complete the online form available on our website: www.rfs.nsw.gov.au/notify

Please note that in some areas, you may still need an environmental permit from your local council or permit from Fire and Rescue NSW. You must also be aware of restrictions on the size and materials permitted in burn piles.

Due to the forecasted extreme hot weather for Sunday and Monday we have to regrettably postpone the Lue RFS Australia Day long weekend cricket and will hold a cricket day on a date TBA.

This was a decision based on safety and welfare of our community and members to avoid extreme heat exposure.

This means NO FIRES are permitted in the open.

Please refrain from activities which may cause a spark.
- Hot works- Welding, grinding or cutting
-Slashing and mowing.

After today’s electrical storms- Inspect your property for lightning strikes.

Ring 000 if you witness smoke/ fire activity.

Tomorrow Sunday 16th November is a TOTAL FIRE BAN Day- this means no fires are permitted in the open.

The NSW RFS Cudgegong District (Mid-Western Regional Council area) falls under the Central Ranges Weather District (number 10 on the map) and tomorrow the overall Fire Danger Rating sits at HIGH.

Remember - a Total Fire Ban means no fires out in the open!

Know your fire risk and what you will do if fire threatens. Report all unattended fires to Triple Zero (000).

Middle Creek Fire
Aerial water bombing on the Northern containment line.
Helicopters and fixed wing aircraft have been working hard to minimise fire activity along these lines to prevent “spot overs”.
This one drops water close to Lue crews.
* The siren that you can hear warns ground crews that the helicopter is about to bomb the area..

Tomorrow, Tuesday 11 November 2025.

Permits are suspended from midnight tonight until midnight tomorrow night within the Mid-Western Regional Council area.

Across the Central Ranges, the overall Fire Danger Rating is HIGH but locally it is forecast that we will move into 𝑬𝑿𝑻𝑹𝑬𝑴𝑬 Fire Danger during parts of the day.

Winds are expected to be from the west 20-50km/h.

𝗠𝗜𝗗𝗗𝗟𝗘 𝗖𝗥𝗘𝗘𝗞 𝗙𝗜𝗥𝗘

Firefighters with the assistance of aircraft and heavy plant have done an incredible job of implementing a containment strategy around this fire.
Predicted weather tomorrow is a concern and will put pressure on these containment lines. If these close containment lines do not hold, fall back strategies are in place.
There is still no immediate danger but residents to the east of this fire should stay up to date in case the situation changes.
