A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us on Friday for Network & Nibbles with Rhonda Morton.

It was wonderful to gather with so many incredible women from across our region for an afternoon of connection, conversation, and inspiration. A special shout out to the remarkable committee members from Queensland Rural, Regional and Remote Women's Network who joined us before their beautiful long lunch on Saturday!

Rhonda's insights on leadership and resilience resonated deeply. Her willingness to share both her professional experience and personal journey made for a truly engaging and thought-provoking discussion.

Events like these remind us of the power of coming together to learn from one another, support each other, and strengthen the network that makes RWNCQ such a special community.

Thank you to Rhonda for sharing her time and wisdom, and thank you to all who attended and contributed to the vibrant atmosphere of the afternoon. More photos are up on our website!

We look forward to seeing you at our next event, a coffee connection in on 9 July at the Boathouse Cafe!

Due to the recent passing of our RWNCQ President, Melissa Lobegeier, we have made the decision to cancel our upcoming Members Only event:

Women’s Mental Health Lunchwith Kate Richardson, Activate HealthAt the Great Western Hotel on 20 May

At this time, our committee and members are taking space to honour Melissa’s life, leadership, and extraordinary contribution to our network and wider community.

Melissa was at the heart of so much of what Regional Women’s Network Central Queensland represents: connection, support, growth, and showing up for one another. It feels only right that we pause this event as we reflect on her legacy and support those closest to her.

We thank Kate Richardson and our members for your understanding and compassion during this time.

Further updates regarding future events will be shared in due course.

With appreciation,

The RWNCQ Committee

Today we honour the remarkable legacy of Melissa Lobegeier.

Melissa was a true force in Central Queensland, a woman who led with heart, vision, and unwavering dedication to her community. As President of the Regional Women’s Network Central Queensland, she created space for women to connect, grow, and thrive. Her leadership wasn’t just about progress; it was about people, lifting others up and ensuring no one stood alone.

As the proud owner of Brush and Comb Salon in Allenstown, Melissa built more than a business. She created a place of warmth, laughter, and trust, where conversations flowed as freely as her generosity, and every person who walked through the door felt seen.

Melissa brought colour to everything she touched. She had a love for sequins and pink and bold, not just as a style, but as a reflection of who she was: vibrant, joyful, and unapologetically bright. She was a colourful presence in every room, a light in the world who lifted the energy of those around her simply by being there.

But beyond her many achievements, Melissa’s greatest pride was her family. A devoted mother and grandmother, she poured love into every moment, leaving behind a legacy that will live on through those who knew her best. She was immensely proud of her children and of levelling up to a “Mum Ma.”

Melissa was a connector, a champion, a friend - a true “mover and shaker” whose impact will ripple through our community for years to come.

We will remember her for her kindness, her strength, her sparkle, and her ability to bring people together. She made things happen, and she made people feel like they mattered.

Her legacy is not just what she built, but how Melissa made us feel: supported, inspired, and stronger together.

With deep gratitude and heartfelt remembrance,

The RWNCQ Committee

Our President Melissa Lobegeier and committee member Kerry Peel had the absolute pleasure of being speakers at the International Women’s Day High Tea at Girls Time Out this week. The audience was filled with such warm welcoming people. Kerry spoke of her personal journey which has lead to where she is today: a successful business woman. Melissa chose to speak of the challenges faced as a business woman and changes in the perception of women in the 35 years she has been in business. The morning was a credit to Girls Time Out. They are an incredible organisation who have many projects helping vulnerable people in our community on a day to day basis. We thank them for inviting us.
