Behind the scenes CS Energy 🚁

Here CS Energy highlights something that resonates strongly with CapRescue — the importance of different teams working together, with safety at the centre of what they do.

From training for real-world scenarios to the coordination between people with very different areas of expertise, there are plenty of parallels in keeping complex operations running safely and reliably.

CS Energy’s commitment to safety extends beyond its own operations. As a CapRescue Lift Off Partner, their support helps keep a rapid aeromedical response available across the region their people live and work in.

🙌🏻 Weekend Wrap Up 🚁

Saturday was a busy one for CapRescue, with the crew tasked four times by Queensland Health.

The day began in the early hours with a call to a single-vehicle accident south of Dysart. The task was cancelled shortly after Rescue300 became airborne.

A few hours later, Rescue300 was requested to assist at a single-vehicle rollover on the Peak Downs Highway. The patient was transported by road to Moranbah, where the crew landed nearby to support other emergency services. It was reported that one of the two occupants had sustained suspected multiple limb injuries and required further treatment.

Around midday, Rescue300 travelled to Blackwater to transfer a woman to Rockhampton Hospital for further treatment.

That evening, the crew was tasked to Moura for a man with suspected spinal injuries. Shortly after take-off, a second patient also required transport from Moura, prompting Rescue300 to return to base to reconfigure the aircraft and load additional fuel before continuing the task.

Behind a day like this is careful coordination of crews and aircraft, management of duty hours and fatigue, and strict engineering and maintenance requirements — all helping keep Rescue300 ready to respond safely around the clock

🚁National Youth Volunteer Week 💙

A big shout-out to the students from The Rockhampton Grammar School who have stepped up to help CapRescue at Colour Me Capricorn and our Open Days.

But volunteering doesn’t always mean putting on a vest. Young people support CapRescue in all sorts of ways — sharing their story, creating something to auction, lending their skills or simply giving their time.

There are plenty of ways to StepUp — what could you bring?

The StepUp CapRescue Volunteers program is proudly supported by Thiess.

🌄A weekend in our backyard 🚁

At 930 metres above sea level, Amy’s Peak is tucked within the rugged surrounds of Kroombit Tops National Park — one of the many incredible places to explore in the CapRescue region.

On Sunday afternoon, Rescue300 was tasked to the area following a motorbike accident. A woman in her 40s reportedly suffered suspected leg fractures after the motorbike left a gravel road and travelled down an embankment.

The patient was moved to a nearby homestead where Rescue300 could land, before being flown to Rockhampton Hospital for further care.

Road, track, trail, river or coast — wherever you explore, CapRescue is here when you need it.

A little Feel Good Friday inspiration from Dr Cechael Sparrfelt — aka Dr Seashell 🐚💙

Six months ago, Cechael swapped Sweden for Rockhampton to follow her dream of working on a rescue helicopter — and what an adventure it’s been.

Her message? Don’t wait until you feel ready. Sometimes you just have to do it.

CapRescue is glad to be part of the journey. 🚁

🐂 Thankful Thursday 🚁

Okay, CapRescue may be a little biased, but the catalogue has been opened straight to Lot 53 – Cree Papalii W300, with half the proceeds being donated to CapRescue.

For a number of years, Cree Santa Gertrudis has generously included the service in its annual sale, and CapRescue is grateful to Shaun, Jo and everyone involved for recognising the importance of Rescue300 in the rural community.

Be sure to check out this year's sale catalogue and support the people supporting your local helicopter rescue.
