🚁 LONG WEEKEND WRAP-UP | Nine missions. Three days. Seven locations.

It was an extremely busy long weekend for Rescue300, with crews assisting patients aged from 3 to 80 and spending more than 15 hours in the air.

📍 Saturday | Woorabinda & Gladstone
The weekend began with a three-year-old boy flown from Woorabinda to Rockhampton after a medical episode, followed by an inter-facility transfer from Gladstone.

📍 Sunday | Five missions
Rescue300 responded to Rolleston after a man suffered injuries in a 2.5-metre fall, and Ogmore following a serious road crash where a man had to be extricated from his vehicle.

The crew also completed three inter-facility transfers — two from Gladstone and one from Emerald.

📍 Monday | Sykes Reef & Blackwater
On Monday morning, Rescue300 was tasked offshore to Sykes Reef, east of Heron Island, where the crew located a man on top of his overturned 4.5-metre tender.

He was winched from the vessel, assessed by the onboard paramedic and flown to Gladstone Hospital.

The long weekend finished with an inter-facility transfer from Blackwater to Rockhampton Hospital.

🙏🏻 THANKFUL THURSDAY | A little perspective 🚁

I went into International Coffee Day thinking today's Thankful Thursday might be a bit of fun.

But looking back through September's tasking photos, 57 tasks — our busiest month of the year — suddenly felt like much more than a number.

Behind every task is a person who needed help, and a crew ready to respond — day or night, across Central Queensland and beyond.

So today we're thankful for the team behind Rescue300, and for those who help look after them.

A special International Coffee Day thank you to The Two Professors, who generously supply our coffee beans, and LactalisAustralia, who keep the fridge stocked with milk. ☕💙

It's one small part of supporting a team that's ready 24/7.

🚁 PRIMARY RESPONSE | South of Bauhinia

Rescue300 was tasked this morning to retrieve a woman in her 20s following a rural incident south of Bauhinia.

The woman had fallen from a quad bike and suffered a head laceration and suspected spinal injuries.

A Queensland Ambulance Service road crew arrived first on scene, transporting the patient a short distance to Rescue300, which had landed at the property.

With spinal injuries suspected, landing close to the scene helped minimise the patient’s time travelling by road over rough terrain before she was airlifted to Rockhampton Hospital in a stable condition.

The mission marks Rescue300’s 57th task for September.

💙 NATIONAL POLICE REMEMBRANCE DAY

Today, we pause to remember the police officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty.

As fellow frontline workers, we recognise the commitment and sacrifice that comes with serving and protecting our communities.

Services will be held throughout Central Queensland today, including a memorial service at St Joseph’s Cathedral in Rockhampton at 10am.

Our thoughts are with their families, friends and colleagues.

With honour they served. 💙

🚁 WEEKEND WRAP-UP | Busy weekend fo CapRescue

Rescue300 completed five missions across Central Queensland over the weekend, including three on Sunday.

📍 Saturday 6:18am | Gladstone
A 68-year-old woman was flown from Gladstone to Rockhampton Hospital for ongoing care.

📍 Saturday 2:46pm | Thangool
Rescue300 was tasked to a primary response near Thangool before diverting to Thangool Airport, where a 21-year-old woman was flown to Rockhampton Hospital.

📍 Sunday 9:14am | Dysart
The crew was tasked to Dysart Hospital for a primary response.

📍 Sunday 2:34pm | Moura
A 15-year-old was flown from Moura to Rockhampton after suffering injuries in a motorbike fall. He was transported in a stable condition.

📍 Sunday 10:28pm | Moura
Rescue300 returned to Moura later that night to transfer a 36-year-old woman to Rockhampton Hospital for ongoing care for a medical condition.

Feel Good Friday | Practice makes perfect!

Rescue300 had a few extra hands on deck on Wednesday when CapRescue joined Queensland Fire Department, Queensland Police Service, Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) and Central Queensland Health at Rockhampton Hospital for a large-scale emergency training exercise.

The simulated 'hard landing' incident gave local agencies the chance to put emergency response plans into practice, work together and strengthen coordination for when it really matters.

And judging by this photo… opening a helicopter door is definitely a team sport. 😂

Exercises like these are an important part of making sure everyone is ready to respond safely and effectively when the real call comes.

A great morning of training, teamwork and preparedness for our community.
