This Mother’s Day, we celebrate the strength, dedication and compassion of mums everywhere, but especially those in our Thurgoona RFS family. We recognise those who give their time to help protect their communities, whether they're on the frontline, supporting behind the scenes or back at home, their contributions are extraordinary.

Today, we thank them for all they do, not just as RFS members, but as leaders and role models in our brigade and community 🚒💐❤️

Today, May 4th is St Florian's Day.
He is the Patron Saint of Firefighters and there is a traditional prayer offered on this day on behalf of firefighters.
Prayer to St. Florian for Firefighters :
Oh, Almighty God, whose great power and eternal wisdom embraces the universe, watch over all Firefighters.
Protect them from harm in the performance of their duty to fight fire, save lives, and preserve property.
We pray, help them to keep our homes and all buildings safe day and night.
We recommend them to Your loving care because their duty is dangerous.
Grant them Your unending strength and courage in their daily assignments.
Dear God, protect these brave persons.
Grant them Your Almighty protection and unite them safely with their families after duty has ended.
Amen.

WAKE UP THURGOONA!! Good Friday’s finally here 🚒

We’re getting the trucks ready and it looks like the Easter bunny has left some chocolate eggs for us to give out while we’re collecting donations for the Royal Childrens Hospital. Our truck tracker will be on a little bit earlier for testing but the trucks are expected to leave at 8am.

If you the hear the sirens, please come out as we’d love to see you and if you have any spare change to donate that would also be awesome 🚒

ONE MORE SLEEP TO GO!!!

That's right..... we'll all be up super early tomorrow morning and out in the trucks collecting for the Royal Children's Hospital as part of the Good Friday Appeal. If you hear our sirens, please come out and say hello 🚒🚒

Last weekend Bunnings Warehouse Australia, in Albury, kindly held a sausage sizzle with the support of some volunteers from a few of the local emergency services and raised over $3,000 for this amazing cause - what an awesome result!!

5 more sleeps until the Good Friday Appeal, when we'll be out collecting for the Royal Children's Hospital!! 🚒🚒🚒🚒

This year we'll be using a 'truck tracker' app so you can see where we are. There will be 6 trucks out collecting, each with its own individual route. The map below shows the route number for the estates in Thurgoona.

The tracker won't go live until approximately 8am on Good Friday and once it's live you can simply click on the link below and then select the route which covers your area.

Can you believe it's Good Friday next week?

Don't be alarmed if you hear our sirens all morning as we'll be out in the Thurgoona area collecting for the Royal Children's Hospital as part of the Good Friday Appeal.

If you hear us nearby, please come out to say hello to our firefighters and if you have any spare change please make a donation to this amazing cause, every little helps! (I've also heard that they may even have some chocolate eggs to hand out 🐰)
