Spending time on site at Johnsons Beach in Penguin this week reinforced what makes Tasmania's Central Coast so special.

Working alongside our consultant team and connecting them with local community members is a key part of shaping a master plan that reflects both opportunity and identity.

What we’ve heard through recent community consultation is clear: there’s strong support for improving fishing, boating, BBQ and play facilities while protecting the natural, slightly wild character that sets Johnsons Beach apart.

In a world of increasingly standardised coastal development that forgets where it started, places like this matter.

This is about enhancing what people love, not replacing it.

Make it local. Make it lasting. Make it Central.

Celebrating local success on Tassie’s Central Coast 🍷

Congratulations to the team at Windows on Westella and Broad Acres Wines on their 2024 Pinot Noir taking out Gold at the 2026 Tasmanian Wine Show 🥇

From paddock to plate (and glass), the Central Coast continues to prove that world-class quality can come from right here.

👏 Well done to the Broad Acres team.

If you haven’t visited Windows on Westella, this might be the perfect excuse.

When Hannah Lewis moved from Melbourne to Penguin in 2020, she wasn’t just taking over a local business. She was choosing a different way of life.

As the owner of The Penguin Pantry, Hannah has built a business in a seaside town where lifestyle, community and opportunity come together. Being able to walk out the door and straight onto the beach is just part of what makes living and working on Tasmania’s Central Coast so special.

Hannah’s story is one of many being shared through Make it Central, showcasing the people and businesses helping drive momentum across the region and proving that you don’t have to choose between opportunity and lifestyle.

👉 Visit makeitcentral.com.au to read Hannah’s story and discover more stories from local entrepreneurs building their future on the Central Coast.

Sure, we could have produced a traditional investment prospectus… but instead, we’ve launched Make it Central, a new website and online presence that tells the story of Tasmania’s Central Coast in a way that truly reflects our people, opportunities and lifestyle.

It was wonderful to celebrate the launch surrounded by local business owners and community members, and to hear firsthand their enthusiasm and support. That feedback matters, because Make it Central is grounded in their stories, experience and ambition.

A big thank you to Central Coast Council Mayor Cheryl Fuller, Councillors and CEO Vicki Brereton for their ongoing support, and to Roger Jaensch MP and the Tasmanian Government for backing our region’s growth.

We’re incredibly proud of everyone who helped bring this to life — and excited to see how it continues to grow.

Make it happen. Make it yours. Make it Central.
