The Bureau of Meteorology advises rainfall upstream of the Mirrool Creek catchment has resulted in river level rises at Barellan Road. As these flows move downstream, minor flooding is possible at East Mirrool Regulator during the remainder of Tuesday and into Wednesday.

The Mirrool Creek at East Mirrool Regulator is currently at 0.02 m and steady, below the minor flood level (0.90 m). The Mirrool Creek at East Mirrool Regulator may reach around the minor flood level during the remainder of Tuesday and into Wednesday.

Based on predictions from the Bureau of Meteorology, the following areas may be impacted by dangerous floodwater:

What are we expecting?

The Bureau of Meteorology advises rainfall observed from late Monday night into Tuesday has caused river level rises on the Tumut River.

Minor flooding may develop at Tumut from Tuesday afternoon. Further rainfall is forecast during Tuesday, which may lead to further river level rises.

River levels have now eased following a peak below the minor flood level overnight Tuesday into Wednesday.

The Tumut River at Tumut is currently at 1.10 m and falling, below the minor flood level. The Tumut River at Tumut is expected to remain below the minor flood level (2.00 m).

Based on predictions from the Bureau of Meteorology, the following areas may be impacted by floodwater:

We're in for a wet start to the week with severe thunderstorms possible ⛈️
For inland NSW and the ranges, localised heavy rainfall, flash flooding, damaging winds and large hail are all possible Tuesday before shifting along the northern coast and ranges. Conditions are expected to settle late Wednesday or Thursday.

⚠️ A minor flood warning has been issued for Tumut River due to rainfall forecast from late Monday night into Tuesday.
⚠️ A minor flood warning is also current for the Murray River at Barham.

The NSW SES advises:
🏡Prepare your property now ahead of the storm. Secure loose items that can be blown away in strong winds. Clean your gutters and downpipes to avoid blockages. Fix any broken tiles or damage to your roof. Move your car away from under trees.
🚗 Steer clear of floodwater. If you come across a flooded road, turn around and find an alternative route. Flash flooding can be dangerous and unpredictable. Stay vigilant.
