This week, members of the AgriFutures team were in Darwin for the Australian Agronomy Conference, connecting with researchers, growers, industry leaders and stakeholders from across northern Australia. 🌱

The Conference provided a valuable opportunity to hear the latest research insights and explore new opportunities to support innovation across Australia's agricultural industries.

A highlight was a field trip to the Coastal Plains Research Farm, where attendees viewed a range of tropical crops, including emerging industries such as jackfruit and finger lime.

We were also proud to sponsor the Conference Gala Dinner, which featured a panel discussion bringing together experts in research, industry development, innovation, technology and commercialisation. The conversation shared real-world experiences, practical lessons and honest reflections on what has worked, what hasn't, and where the next opportunities for Australian agriculture may lie.

That's the message from Griffith farmer and industry leader Nathan Crowley, who completed the the Australian Institute of Company Directors' Foundations of Directorship™ Program, sponsored by AgriFutures Australia.

The program helped Nathan strengthen his understanding of governance, strategic leadership, financial oversight and board responsibilities, giving him the confidence to pursue governance opportunities and contribute to the future of Australian agriculture.
