🎉Mandarin Language and Culture Course Concludes at the National Police Training Academy🇹🇼🤝🇧🇿

👮20 police officers successfully completed the Mandarin Language and Culture Course at the National Police Training Academy today, following more than 3 months of language and cultural learning since May.

Speaking at the closing ceremony, Commissioner of Police Dr. Anthony Richard Rosado highlighted the practical value of language skills in modern policing, noting that “every successful police interaction begins with communication, and every lasting relationship between the police and the community begins with trust.”

Ambassador Amino Chi congratulated the officers on their dedication and perseverance, emphasizing that even a few words of Mandarin can help improve communication, provide reassurance, and build trust with Mandarin-speaking residents and visitors.

Participating officers also shared their experiences and reflections, adding a personal touch to the celebration.

👮警察學院華語暨文化課程圓滿結業 🇹🇼🤝🇧🇿

20位警員於8月28日在貝里斯國家警察訓練學院（National Police Training Academy）順利完成「華語暨文化課程」，為自5月開始、歷時3個多月的學習畫下圓滿句點。

警察署長Anthony Richard Rosado致詞時特別強調語言能力在現代警務工作中的實用價值。他表示：「每一次成功的警民互動，都始於溝通；而警察與社區之間長久的關係，則建立在信任之上。」

紀欽耀大使恭喜所有學員順利完成課程，並肯定大家這段期間的投入與堅持。紀大使表示，即使只是幾句簡單的華語，在居民或旅客需要協助時，都能幫助彼此溝通、讓人多一份安心，也進一步建立理解與信任。

典禮中，警官學員們也分享了學習華語的心得與感想，讓今天的結業典禮多了一份屬於自己的溫度與喜悅。

Moving towards a more resilient future.

Ambassador Amino Chi was pleased to witness the signing of the MOU between Ministry of Sustainable Development, Climate Change & Solid Waste Management and Ministry of Public Service, Disaster Risk Management & Enterprise on August 27, in support of the Multi-Hazard Risk Management Capacity Building Project.

Disaster prevention and resilience building is a long-term effort, especially when climate change has profoundly impacted regional development and human security. Under the framework of the MOU, 駐貝里斯技術團 Taiwan Technical Mission in Belize will share its experience and expertise in disaster prevention and risk management with the two ministries, and upgrade the current disaster prevention mechanism of Belize to a broader scale.

In the face of climate change, Taiwan will keep working with Belize to promote concrete climate actions.🌱

✈️ Taiwan Veterans Affairs Council Delegation Visits Belize

A delegation from Taiwan’s Veterans Affairs Council, led by Deputy Minister Chin-Kuang Chen, visited Belize from August 24 to 26. Upon arrival at the Philip Goldson International Airport, the delegation was warmly received by representatives of the Embassy of the Republic of China (Taiwan) and the ROC Veterans Association in Belize.

🎖️During the visit, the delegation met with Ambassador Amino Chi, engaged with members of the ROC Veterans Association in Belize and visited the Belize Ex-Services League, where they exchanged experiences and perspectives on veterans’ services and support.

🤝The visit provided a meaningful opportunity to exchange experiences in veterans’ affairs and further strengthen the longstanding friendship and people-to-people ties between Taiwan and Belize.

✈️ 退輔會訪團來貝 深化退伍軍人事務交流

國軍退除役官兵輔導委員會陳進廣副主任委員於8月24日至26日率團訪問貝里斯，大使館同仁與貝里斯榮光聯誼會成員熱情接機。

🎖️訪貝期間，該團一行會晤紀欽耀大使，與貝里斯榮光聯誼會交流，並拜會貝里斯退伍軍人協會（Belize Ex-Services League），就退伍軍人服務與照顧等議題分享經驗與看法。

🤝此次訪問提供彼此交流退伍軍人事務經驗的寶貴機會，並進一步深化臺貝長久友誼及民間交流。

Foreign Minister Lin Chia welcomed Belize Minister of Public Service & Disaster Risk Management Hon. Henry Usher and Madame Usher to visit Taiwan!
Both sides exchanged views on the wide range of cooperative initiatives benefiting both our two peoples. Minister Usher thanks Taiwan for sharing its experiences on civil service training and practical steps for disaster prevention and rescue during this visit, and looks forward to deepen further cooperation between Taiwan and Belize.

Strengthening support for women’s empowerment in Belize

On August 24, Ambassador Amino Chi was delighted to sign jointly with Foreign Minister Hon. Francis Fonseca “the Belize Women and Youth MSMEs Development Project Agreement, a jointly funded initiative supporting women and youth in Belize. 💪

Based on the foundation of the previous women’s empowerment project, Taiwan will share its experience and expertise to train women and youth in Belize in entrepreneurship, equip them with vital vocational skills, and assist them in building their own businesses in tourism, indigenous handicraft, beauty industry and other potential sectors.

As a reliable partner, Taiwan will keep working with Belize to help women and youth to discover their talent and potential.

台灣將在上一期「婦女賦權計畫」所建立的基礎上與貝國分享協助婦女及青年創業及職業訓練的經驗及專業知識，並協助貝國婦女及青年在觀光旅遊業、原住民手工藝、美容業及其他潛力領域創業。

✈️🇹🇼 Safe Travels to Our 2026 Scholarship Recipients!

This year, a total of 75 Belizean students received scholarships under the MOFA Taiwan Scholarship and TaiwanICDF Scholarship programs and are heading to Taiwan to pursue their studies!

With so many students embarking on this exciting journey, they departed in several groups over three days, and our Embassy team was delighted to see them off at the airport and wish them a safe journey.

As they begin this new chapter, we wish all our students a rewarding experience in Taiwan and every success in their studies. Enjoy the journey, embrace every opportunity, make wonderful memories! And most importantly, STUDY HARD!💪📖

🎓A New Journey Begins: Celebrating Our 2026 Taiwan Scholarship Recipients! 🇧🇿✈️🇹🇼

Excitement was in the air as 75 Belizean students gathered on August 14 for the 2026 Taiwan Scholarship Orientation and Alumni Gathering, hosted by the Embassy together with the Belize Taiwan Alumni Society (BTAS). This year, 35 students received the MOFA Taiwan Scholarship and 40 received the TaiwanICDF Scholarship.🎓

We were honored to have H.E. Dame Froyla Tzalam, Governor-General of Belize, and Hon. Francis Fonseca, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Trade, Education, Culture, Science and Technology, join Ambassador Amino Chi in congratulating and encouraging our scholarship recipients. We were also pleased to welcome Mr. Elton Bennett, CEO of the Ministry of Home Affairs and Enterprise, and Mr. Stanley Gideon, Deputy Director of the Department of Civil Aviation.

🇹🇼🤝🇧🇿Making the afternoon even more meaningful was the passing on of the Taiwan experience from one generation to the next. Many Taiwan alumni, now contributing to Belize across healthcare, trade, culture, energy, diplomacy, and public service, joined us to connect with this year’s scholarship recipients and share their experiences of studying and living in Taiwan.

Among them, Mr. Alobi Young, President of BTAS, and Ms. Ilona Smiling, Director of the Museum of Belize and Houses of Culture and Museum of Belizean Arts, gave remarks as Taiwan alumni, while Mr. Ian Oliva, President of the Belize Taiwan Association (BTA), offered words of encouragement to the students as they prepare to begin their own journey in Taiwan.

Education has long been an important part of the friendship between Taiwan and Belize. Through the MOFA Taiwan Scholarship and TaiwanICDF Scholarship, Belizean students have the opportunity to pursue higher education in Taiwan and experience its dynamic academic environment, culture, and way of life. 🇧🇿✈️🇹🇼

From undergraduate and graduate studies to specialized professional programs, studying in Taiwan opens the door to new knowledge, international experiences, and lifelong connections.

🇹🇼🤝🇧🇿Over the years, Belizean students and alumni who have studied in Taiwan have also helped build stronger people-to-people ties between our two countries, turning educational exchange into lasting friendship.
