We were honoured to present at the Newcomer Centre, engaging with community members on the critical issue of Online Safety: Protecting Ourselves and our Children. Sessions like these are essential in fostering informed, empowered communities—particularly among newcomers who may face increased vulnerabilities.

Through education and open conversation, we aim to equip individuals with the knowledge to recognize risks, access support, and contribute to safer environments for all. We are grateful for the opportunity to collaborate with organizations committed to strengthening community well-being and support systems.

Financial crime doesn’t just move money — it moves harm.

When oversight is weak, criminals exploit the system to launder cash, fund organized crime, and fuel human exploitation.

What’s happening behind the scenes should concern all of us.
Watch closely — because following the money protects people.

Global News has since confirmed through sources that the three officers are Evan Glennie, Rich Rand and Caglar Yigit.

This case raises urgent questions about misogyny, abuse of power, accountability, and the ongoing normalization of violence against women involved in prostitution and s*xual exploitation.

No woman should be assaulted, exploited, or dehumanized because of her circumstances.
At CEASE we continue to advocate for approaches that hold offenders accountable while supporting and protecting vulnerable women and girls.

One of their key initiatives is the Social Impact Sprint—a fast-paced, five-hour hackathon where cross-functional teams from Thomson Reuters partner directly with nonprofits to co-create practical, implementable solutions to real organizational challenges.

CEASE was selected as one of the 2026 North American nonprofit participants in the Social Impact Sprint. Through this partnership, CEASE worked alongside Thomson Reuters staff to develop strategies focused on supporting women exiting Edmonton’s body rub centres and creating stronger pathways out of s*xual exploitation.
