A young man came to Canada to study and build a future.

Instead, he was controlled, exploited, and paid almost nothing for a year.
Labour trafficking isn’t always visible — but it’s happening here.

Labour trafficker, Trevor Annon, 65, has been charged with trafficking in persons, receiving financial or material benefit, false pretense and extortion.

Court records show Annon was previously convicted of assault, uttering threats and fraud over $5,000 in separate matters in Ontario.

Police said that the women they interviewed who worked at the property gave consistent accounts of exploitation and "physical violence and abuse" at the hands of three young men, including the suspect.

They further claimed they were pressured to produce increasingly explicit content and were pressured to take Adderall to keep them active.

During their raid of the mansion, police seized more than 300 cell phones, more than 50 laptops, financial documents, cashier's checks, business records, a whiteboard laying out the group's "content plan" and more than 30 s*x toys. Two luxury cars were also seized and impounded. Also, the parties held reportedly had many guests who were under the age of 18.

We stand in full solidarity with the student protestors in Camrose demanding real accountability. It is time to stop making excuses for misogyny, confront the digital forces shaping young minds, and dismantle the demand for exploitation.

At CEASE, we know that po*******hy is one of many online influences young people encounter. The 24/7 accessibility of online po*******hy serves as a massive breeding ground for hostile s*xism. When young boys are flooded with commercial content that relies on the degradation and objectification of girls and women, their empathy is eroded. They learn to view girls as objects of entitlement rather than as equals.

While in prison, Sergei Klenovsky continued to control his girlfriend and, through her, recruited another vulnerable woman into prostitution for his financial benefit.

According to the Crown, this ability to manipulate, direct, and exploit others—even while incarcerated—is one of several factors supporting its application to have him designated a Dangerous Offender.

She didn’t choose this.
She was vulnerable, recruited with promises, and then controlled.
She only got out after losing everything—her home, her safety, her sense of control.

This case is a stark reminder that human trafficking is built on coercion, control, and the exploitation of vulnerability.
