We turned real scam text messages into a show tune.

Unfortunately, the lyrics are real.

From fake bank alerts and romance scams to the classic "Dad, this is my new number" text, scammers use urgency, emotion and trust to get what they want.

Stop. Think. Verify.

Hamilton Police would like to thank our provincial partners at the Ministry of Transportation and Halton Regional Police Service for assisting with Commercial Motor Vehicle inspections conducted yesterday in the Waterdown area near Hwy 5 and Hwy 6.

Joint enforcement efforts resulted in:
• 52 commercial vehicle inspections

• 45 charges laid

Commercial vehicles can be taken out of service for numerous safety infractions, including:
• Required safety inspections not completed
• Faulty braking systems
• Insecure loads
• Faulty steering systems
• Improper tires
• Other equipment and safety violations

These inspections help ensure commercial vehicles operating on our roads meet required safety standards and help keep our community safe.

Operation Puppy Rescue!

While conducting speed enforcement on the RHVP, our officers discovered a frail looking puppy walking by itself in the heat. The officers were able to secure the puppy, however they soon discovered the puppy’s sister was also abandoned and too afraid to come close. The officers lured her in with pepperoni and they were both taken to safety!

Another unpredictable moment that these officers won’t forget!
