No matter how many years are on the job, we stay ready.

Our crew today was working through our CPAT (Candidate Physical Ability Test) course used for new recruits, tackling the same physical challenges and high-intensity stations expected in the fire service.

From stair climbs to victim rescues, this training keeps our members prepared to put in the work, when our community needs us most.

The job doesn’t get easier, so neither does the training. 💪🔥

Our Foothills Fire Stairclimb Team will be climbing Brookfield Place on June 14th in support of Canadians affected by cancer.

We’re currently around $700 away from reaching our $5,000 fundraising goal, and every donation helps support the incredible programs and services provided by Wellspring Canada.

Thank you to everyone who has supported us so far, we truly appreciate it!

The Foothills Fire Department would like to congratulate Captain Craig Stewart on his promotion to Battalion Chief!❤️‍🔥🫡

Chief Stewart began his fire service career as a volunteer firefighter in Okotoks in 2006. In 2010, he became an EMT/Primary Care Paramedic before joining Foothills Fire Department full-time as a Senior Firefighter in 2012. He was promoted to Captain in 2017 and has continued to be a highly respected and positive member of our team ever since.

Outside of the fire hall, Craig enjoys kayaking and spending time outdoors with family and friends.

Craig’s experience, professionalism, and positive attitude make him an outstanding fit for this role, and we couldn’t be happier to see him take on the position of Battalion Chief.

Please join us in congratulating Battalion Chief Stewart on this well-deserved promotion!🔥🚒

Please join us in congratulating Firefighter Trevor Montgomery on his promotion to Captain at our Blackie Station! 👏🚒

Captain Montgomery first joined the Blackie Fire Station in November 2016 after hearing from neighbours in the fire service about what a rewarding career and lifestyle firefighting can be. What started as a way to try out the local volunteer department quickly became a passion for serving his community.

Over the years, Trevor has shown a strong commitment to helping others, giving back to the community that has supported him and his family, and balancing fire service with family life and his “expensive hobby” of farming.

In addition to his role at Blackie Station, Trevor has also been serving as a part-time firefighter with Foothills Fire Department out of our Heritage Pointe Station since 2024.

Congratulations Captain Montgomery! Thank you for your dedication, leadership, and continued service to the residents of Foothills County.🫡

Effective immediately, Foothills County is moving to a Fire Advisory status due to current weather conditions. We will continue to monitor moisture levels and fire risk throughout the County, and may update the status as needed. If conditions continue to change, the County may impose a Fire Restriction or Ban at anytime. For more details about what is permitted under a Fire Advisory, please visit our website:

Before there were fire trucks, sirens, or radios… there was Mom. ❤️

The ones who comfort us when we’re hurt, stay calm during chaos, and always know how to make things better. Today we recognize all the incredible moms who continue to answer the call every single day.

To the moms serving in emergency services, supporting first responders, and holding families together behind the scenes, thank you for everything you do.

Wishing you a day filled with love, laughter, and appreciation. 🚒❤️
