🦃🚒 Another great year at the Davisburg Turkey Supper!

Foothills Fire Department was happy to once again take part in the annual Davisburg Turkey Supper, an event we look forward to every year!

Our crews brought out some apparatus for everyone to check out, chatted with families about fire prevention and safety, and set up our Little Tikes FireFit course so some of our future firefighters could put their skills to the test! 🚒💪🔥

A big thank you to the Davisburg Community Association for continuing to put on such a great community event and for inviting us back year after year.

SIDE BY SIDE FOR YORSTON 💙

This one hits close to home for all of us at Foothills Fire Department.

Our friend and fellow firefighter Kimball Yorston has dedicated his life to serving others through the fire service. In the fall of 2025, Kimball was diagnosed with ALS. Kimball and his family are near and dear to many members of our department, and right now, the fire service community is coming together to stand beside one of our own.

From October 14–17, our friends at Chestermere Fire Services will be taking part in Campout for a Cause, spending 72 hours on the roof of the Chestermere Emergency Services building with a goal of raising $20,000 for the ALS Society of Alberta.

We’re asking our Foothills community to help us support Kimball, his family, and everyone impacted by ALS.

There are two ways you can help:

💙 Campout for a Cause

Donations support the ALS Society of Alberta, helping provide support, services and equipment to Albertans living with ALS.

👕 Side by Side for Yorston apparel

Fireground Apparel has created a special Side by Side for Yorston collection, with proceeds going directly toward supporting Kimball and his family.

Kimball has spent his career showing up for others. Now it’s our turn to show up for him.

To our brothers and sisters at Chestermere Fire Services, Foothills Fire is proud to stand beside you, and beside Kimball and his family.

No one fights alone. Side by Side for Yorston. 💙

Rail Safety Week | September 21–27, 2026

This week, Foothills Fire Department joins communities across Canada in recognizing Rail Safety Week and reminding everyone to make safety a priority around railway tracks and crossings.

Trains can move faster and be much quieter than you think, and they can’t stop quickly!

- Obey all railway signs, signals and crossing gates
- Never try to beat a train at a crossing
- Cross tracks only at designated crossings
- Never walk, play, or take shortcuts along railway tracks
- Stop, look and listen before crossing

A few extra seconds of patience can save a life.

For more rail safety information, tips and resources, visit Operationlifesaver.ca

See tracks? Think train.

Movie Night at Heritage Pointe!

Foothills Fire Department had a great time joining the community for Movie in the Park at The Lake at Heritage Pointe!

Our crew was on hand popping and handing out popcorn, chatting with families, and enjoying a beautiful evening under the stars. It’s always great getting out into the communities we serve, especially when popcorn and a movie are involved!

Thanks to The Lake at Heritage Pointe Owners’ Association for having us, and to everyone who stopped by to say hello. We hope you enjoyed the popcorn! 🍿🚒

**UPDATE!!** Owner of the keys found! Thank you everyone!

WE NEED YOUR HELP! 🔑

While out on our travels, Foothills Fire Department members were given a set of keys found at the mailboxes near Stockman’s Restaurant.

We’d love to get them back to their owner! The keys are now at our Heritage Pointe Fire Station and can be picked up any time.

To make sure they get back to the rightful owner, you’ll need to tell us what make of vehicle the keys belong to before they’re handed over. 🔑🚗

Please share this post and help us spread the word, hopefully we can reunite these keys with their owner!
