May 14th marks the Moose Hide Campaign Day. The Moose Hide Campaign is a grassroots movement that began in BC and focuses on preventing violence towards women and children by men. It was inspired by the cultural practice of the Moose hunt and how young men grew up learning the importance of taking care of their families and community.

On the days leading up to Moose Hide Campaign Day, we will be setting up a booth at each campus. Here you are encouraged to make a pledge to end violence against women and children and receive your Moose Hide Pin to wear in support of this movement.

Monday, May 11th - Aviation Campus - 9:00am to 3:00pm
Tuesday, May 12th - Commerce Court Campus - 9:00am to 3:00pm
Wednesday, May 13th - College Drive Campus - 9:00am to 3:00pm

Before you approach the booth and make your pledge, ask yourself: What will I do to prevent violence against women and children by men? This could take the form of encouraging men to seek their healing, seeking counselling for yourself, educating yourself on the history of violence against women and children, not being a bystander when witnessing symptoms of violence, etc.

You are also invited to join us on May 14th at 9:30 a.m. at the Mshbiizhiw Gamig (Ceremony Room) for a presentation on the Moose Hide Campaign.
