The Prince Albert Police Service extends its deepest condolences to the families, friends, and fellow service members affected by the tragic incident at CFB Wainwright.

This loss is felt particularly deeply in our community as we mourn the passing of Private Shaun Farrell of Prince Albert, who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving our country.

We also honour and remember the other fallen Canadian Armed Forces members: Sgt. Morgan Wong, Private Hayden Lykkemark, and Private Aidan Goulding. Their dedication, courage, and commitment to service will not be forgotten.

Our thoughts are with the injured service members, their loved ones, and all those impacted by this heartbreaking tragedy. The entire Prince Albert community stands with them during this difficult time.

The Prince Albert Police Service will be conducting a training exercise at St. Francis School today, October 19, 2026, from approximately 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Members of the public may notice an increased police presence in and around the school during this time. This activity is part of a planned training exercise and there is no emergency or threat to the public.

The Prince Albert Police Service has charged a 23-year-old man with impaired driving and multiple fi***rms-related offences following a traffic complaint on October 17, 2026.

At approximately 10:32 a.m., police received a Report Impaired Driver (RID) call from the public. The suspect vehicle was reported to have been driving erratically on 6th Avenue East before stopping at a business on Branion Drive.

Officers located the vehicle as it was pulling away and conducted a traffic stop. The driver displayed signs of impairment and was arrested for impaired driving.

During the investigation, officers located and seized a fi***rm and bear spray in the vehicle. Police also found sh***un shells and brass knuckles on the driver.

The 23-year-old driver has been charged with impaired driving and multiple fi***rms-related offences.

The Prince Albert Police Service encourages members of the public to report suspected impaired drivers by calling 911. When reporting, provide as much information as possible, including the vehicle’s description, license plate number, location and direction of travel. These reports help police respond to potentially dangerous situations and improve road safety in our community.

A Prince Albert Police Service officer sustained injuries while pursuing a robbery suspect on foot on October 14, 2026.

At approximately 11:21 a.m., officers responded to a report of a robbery in the area of 6th Avenue East. Upon arrival, officers learned the suspect had fled the area. Police located the suspect nearby and initiated a foot pursuit. During the pursuit, an officer sustained a serious ankle injury requiring hospital treatment.

The suspect was taken into custody without further incident. The 37-year-old male has been charged with the following offences:

- Robbery with Violence

- Resist Arrest X2

- Uttering Threats

- Obstruct Peace Officer

- Operation of a motor vehicle while prohibited

He made his first court appearance on October 15, 2026.

This incident highlights the physical risks officers face while responding to emergencies and working to keep the community safe. The Prince Albert Police Service thanks the officer for their dedication and wishes them a full recovery.

The Prince Albert Police Service Major Crimes Unit is investigating the homicide of 20-year-old Randall Dreaver and is asking anyone with information to come forward.

At approximately 2:05 a.m. on October 10, 2026, Police responded to a call of an injured person in the 1600 block of 17th Street West. Randall was transported to a hospital by Parkland Ambulance before he succumbed to his injuries on October 11, 2026.

An autopsy was completed on October 13, 2026, and the death was deemed a homicide. The Prince Albert Police Service Forensic Identification Section and Saskatchewan Coroner’s Officer assisted with the investigation.

No arrests have been made at this time.

Investigators are asking anyone who may have information about this incident, or who may have captured relevant footage on home surveillance or dash cameras in the area around the time of the incident, to contact Police.

The Prince Albert Police Service Canine Unit has once again partnered with the Saskatoon Police Service Canine Unit on this.

You can visit the front office at 45-15th Street West to get a copy for $10. Only cash is accepted.

100% of proceeds go to the Saskatchewan SPCA Stryker K-9 Care Fund, which provides owners of retired law enforcement dogs with assistance for the cost of routine and emergency veterinary care.

Members of the Prince Albert Police Service attended the Opening Doors to Tomorrow Career/Job Fair today, connecting with youth and introducing them to career opportunities in policing.

As Northern Saskatchewan largest annual career and job fair, the event provided an opportunity for students to learn about policing, ask questions, and learn more about the dedication required to serve our community.
