The Big Latch is back! Join us as we celebrate National Breastfeeding Week and the many people who help support, encourage, and promote breastfeeding and chestfeeding in our community. Together, we can help build a community where infants, children, and families feel supported, connected, and welcomed.

Join us for snacks, prizes, playtime, and community connection. All feeding methods are welcome. Whether you are breastfeeding, chestfeeding, pumping, combination feeding, formula feeding, supporting someone who is feeding, or simply want to celebrate families, you are welcome to join us.

Come celebrate all those who directly and indirectly support and promote breastfeeding and chestfeeding. Together, we can recognize the importance of feeding support and strengthen our community for infants, children, parents, caregivers, and families. All families are welcome. Come celebrate with us!

October 1-7 is HPV Prevention Week in Canada. Human Papillomavirus (HPV) is an extremely common sexually-transmitted infection. Most infections will clear on their own without any symptoms, but some strains can cause ge***al warts or cervical, pe**le, and throat cancers. Fortunately, the HPV vaccine protects against the strains that are most likely to cause cancers and ge***al warts. This year, we’re recognizing National Breastfeeding Week under the theme: “Breastfeeding for a Sustainable Start in Life: Strengthen What Works”

This year’s theme reminds us to strengthen what works. That starts with:
• Learning about breastfeeding, chestfeeding, human milk feeding during the prenatal period.
• Knowing where to find local lactation support and services.
• Connecting families with community programs that support breastfeeding.
• Building welcoming communities where families feel supported in reaching their feeding goals.

Support can make a difference before baby arrives and throughout the early days, weeks, months and years. Join us for The Big Latch on October 6, 2026, from 10:00–11:30 a.m. at Communities Together for Children EarlyON Hub. Come together with other families, connect with local supports, share experiences and celebrate National Breastfeeding Week. All infant feeding methods are welcome.

Rowan Stringer was a 17 year old high school rugby player who died after suffering multiple unreported concussions. Concussions are serious brain injuries. Learn to spot the symptoms and speak up about concussions. September 30 is Rowan’s Law Day.
