In the summer, many of us enjoy outdoor activities, whether it be swimming, hiking, gardening, or simply sitting out on the deck with a good book. While the summer heat allows us to have fun in the sun, it also can lead to dehydration.
Here are 8 tips to stay hydrated this summer:
1. Make water your drink of choice.
2. Drink water with every snack and meal.
3. Carry a reusable water bottle at all times.
4. Try a fruit and herb infused water or carbonated water.
5. Keep a pitcher of water in the fridge or on the table for easy access.
6. Add natural flavour to your water.
7. Eat more water-rich fruits throughout the day, such as watermelon, strawberries, grapefruit, and peaches.
8. Rehydrate after physical activity

Try these 5 ways to add natural flavour to your water:
1. Blackberries + mint
2. Raspberries + cucumber
3. Strawberries + fresh basil
4. Chopped apples + a cinnamon stick
5. Pear slices + a drop of vanilla extract

Looking for a fun twist on the game tag?

Head to Boulevard or your neighbourhood park and try "Link Tag". One person begins as “it” and as other players get tagged, they link arms with the person chosen to be “it” and form a chain. The chain of people must work together and communicate as they try to tag the remaining players. The last player to get tagged is the winner and a new game can begin. This version is fantastic with a big group of kids!

Want some more inspiration? Check out 12 variations on tag here:

Tag is such a classic game but, turns out, there are also lots of fun ways to jazz it up! Try some of these creative variations with your kids.
