Day 3 of Culinary was a wonderful blend of cooking and sensory exploration for the Grade 7 students!** Students prepared traditional Three Sisters Soup and cheddar bannock, learning about the significance of these foods and the ingredients used to make them.

We were also fortunate to welcome **Roots of Harvest**, who led students through a variety of engaging sensory activities. Using their five senses, students explored different kitchen sounds and smells, identified bitter and sweet tastes, and used touch and sight to determine a variety of food items and kitchen tools. It was an interactive and memorable experience that encouraged students to connect with food in new and meaningful ways while developing their sensory awareness.

Day 2 of Culinary was another exciting experience for the Grade 7s! They put their cooking skills to work by making delicious homemade cinnamon buns and creamy mac and cheese. It was a day filled with amazing aromas and tasty creations!

Students also had the opportunity to step outside their comfort zones and expand their palates by sampling Vegemite and seasoned crickets. Many were eager to try something new, and the experience sparked lots of curiosity and conversation about foods from different cultures. It was a fun, memorable, and delicious day of learning in the kitchen! 🍽️👩‍🍳👨‍🍳

This week, our school took time to honour Accessibility, Inclusion, and Equity Week — a reminder that not all barriers are visible, and not all challenges are shared equally.

Throughout the week, students participated in activities designed to help us better understand some of the daily obstacles that many of our classmates face. These experiences encouraged empathy, reflection, and meaningful conversations about how we can create a school community where everyone feels supported, valued, and included. We are proud of our students for approaching these activities with openness, respect, and curiosity.

Together, we continue to learn what it truly means to build a space where everyone belongs.
