Treating each other with dignity and respect is part of our values as New Democrats. We believe you would like to be treated the same way. Sharing your thoughts and views is encouraged, but we expect all conversations to be polite and respectful. We will actively moderate or remove comments that violate this community contract. Here are some rules to guide commenting:

* Personal attacks: Don’t engage in personal attacks on any individual, including other posters. This includes name calling, commenting on anyone’s appearance and persistent trolling. Threats of physical harm towards a person or group of people will be removed, and users who make these threats may be banned.
* Hate speech: Attacks based on age, s*x, race, color, creed, religion, ethnicity, s*xual orientation, gender identity, national origin, citizenship, disability, marital status or other marginalized group not listed above will not be tolerated and could result in an immediate ban.
* Language: Comments (including images posted in comments) that contain vulgar, aggressive, coarse, violent, obscene, or pornographic language will be removed. Repeated posting of this content may result in you being banned from commenting.
* Spam, advertising, misinformation: Content will be removed if it appears to be third-party solicitation, including spam or advertisements, debunked conspiracy theories, or fake news intended to mislead other users. Comments offering money to other users for any reason will be removed, and the users could risk being banned.
* Fake accounts & profiles: Posts from fake accounts or fake profiles as well as repeat posts will probably be removed, and we may block you completely from posting on this page. Families in Surrey are working hard and still feeling the squeeze. That’s why we’re taking on big oil to bring gas down by up to 30 cents a litre, and reining in the grocery giants’ profits on basics like milk, butter and chicken.

This is a moment for Canada to stand on its own two feet, and Surrey is going to help lead the way. From the Roberts Bank port to the Massey Tunnel, we’re getting the big projects done. Let’s keep building B.C. strong.

A massive crowd packed in tonight to join David Eby and the BC NDP Surrey team.

Surrey will soon be B.C.’s biggest city, and it’s at the heart of the BC NDP's vision for British Columbia's future. That means finishing the new hospital, SkyTrain to Langley and the new medical school, working with Surrey on SkyTrain to Newton and a new health care facility, saving you up to 30 cents a litre on gas, capping car insurance rates for 3 more years, opening 3 new primary care clinics, getting homes built faster, and giving Surrey its own charter – and there's more.

Surrey will soon be B.C.’s biggest city, and it’s at the heart of our vision for our province’s future.

The BC NDP's fully costed plan will:

1. Finish the new Surrey hospital, the SkyTrain to Langley and the SFU Surrey medical school

2. Save you up to 30 cents a litre on gas

3. Open 3 new primary care clinics in Surrey

4. Get homes built faster

5. Give Surrey its own charter, with the same kind of authority Vancouver has

No more bots and resellers jacking up concert tickets. Face value only, with real penalties for breaking the rules.

It’s part of the BC NDP's plan to stop big corporations from ripping you off:

1. Ban ticket scalping
2. Stop predatory algorithmic pricing that uses your personal data to set unfair prices
3. Bring in a right to repair law: you bought it, you should be able to fix it
4. Give Consumer Protection BC more power to investigate unfair business practices
5. Ban non-compete clauses that hold workers back

Thank you to former BC Conservative candidate Ian McLeod for your support! I first met Ian in 2008, when he ran against me, as a BC Conservative.

Ian told me he supports my work as an MLA, and could not in good conscience support his former party any longer because of Lorne Doerkson’s refusal to stand up against homophobia and hate in their caucus.

Thank you Ian for your support and for standing up for human rights!
