Print books are now on display in the Central Branch rotunda and can be placed on hold for pickup at any branch. You can browse the titles and place them on hold for pickup at the branch of your choice. Ebooks are available online through Libby with unlimited borrowing.

As we wrap up celebrating our 2026 Emerging Local Authors Collection, we’ve heard again and again how meaningful it is for writers to see their work shared and discovered by their community.

This year’s collection features 100 local authors and more than 120 books, spanning genres from fantasy and romance to spirituality and children’s stories. We’re proud to celebrate these curious and creative minds!

Some librarians in the U.S. are facing legal consequences for the materials they make available, along with growing threats and harassment. In some cases, new laws are even criminalizing aspects of their work. It’s a powerful and unsettling example of censorship in action, and a reminder of what’s at stake when it comes to the freedom to read.
