⚠️ ADVISORY — Bhote Koshi Flash Flood, Rasuwa,Nepal

Update - 3

Following the flash flood in the Bhote Koshi River in Rasuwa on the morning of 26 August 2026, the Nepal Tourism Board, Tourist Police and tourism stakeholders are working to verify the whereabouts and safety of travellers in the affected areas.

Anyone in Germany seeking information about family members, friends or clients who may have been travelling in the region can use the following emergency contacts:

• Emergency toll-free (within Nepal): 1234
• Hotline (within Nepal): 1144

Those in the affected area should inform the nearest police or security authority, local administration, travel agency, guide or tour operator of their status. Travellers are urged to remain calm, stay informed and follow official safety instructions.

Joint Secretary Mr. Ganesh Prasad Dhakal held a meeting in Bucharest with Ms. Silvia Monica Dinică, State Secretary at the Ministry of Labour, Family, Youth and Social Solidarity of Romania today. During the meeting, the two sides discussed various areas of cooperation between the two countries in the field of labour, including the implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in the Fields of Labour and Social Protection, social security arrangements, the protection of Nepali workers, and problems faced by Nepali workers in Romania.

Earlier, Joint Secretary Mr. Dhakal met with Mr. Cătălin Dan, Director of the Foreign Affairs Department of the Romanian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI). During the meeting, Joint Secretary Mr. Dhakal highlighted the opportunities available for foreign investors in Nepal, particularly in the areas of hydropower, tourism, infrastructure development, and information technology. He also requested the RCCI to disseminate information on business opportunities in Nepal among Romanian companies through its network. Mr. Dan welcomed the request and expressed his support.

While in Bucharest, the Nepali delegation also met with representatives of the Nepali community in Romania and took note of their concerns and suggestions.

Chargé d’Affaires of the Embassy of Nepal in Berlin, Mr. Sagar Prasad Phuyal, and Under Secretary at the Europe Division of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Uttam Ghimire, accompanied Joint Secretary Mr. Dhakal during the meetings.
