Take a step back to our unique Tudor kitchens, imagine great feasts in our Banqueting Hall, and stroll through the 17th Century Long Gallery - the most modern room in the house! Terraced gardens, redesigned by Chelsea Gold Medal Winner, Arne Maynard. Fabulous herbaceous borders bursting with colour and wildflower strips. The Bowling Green terrace is Arne's more recent project to be transformed int

o an Elizabethan knot garden with borders brimming with traditional plants used for dying and medicines. The Haddon Restaurant serves locally sourced food, and is open to all, whether you visit the Hall or not. The Gatehouse Gift Shop sells a wide range of gifts, and is prides itself on stocking unusual and local lines.

We were delighted to welcome Viv Micklefield from Derbyshire Life to Haddon Hall recently, where Lady Edward Manners shared the story behind Haddon’s magnificent Elizabethan gardens, originally designed by the celebrated architect Robert Smythson.

Happy Bank Holiday Monday! We look forward to welcoming those who have chosen to spend their morning/afternoon exploring the hall and gardens. We also have our complimentary guided tours today, which you can join after you arrive 🙏

If you’d like to explore beyond the ancient doors and step into the private parkland that surrounds Haddon Hall, why not join us on one of our Guided Parkland Walks this year? Places are filling up fast but we still have limited availability on:

Sat 20 June (10.30am-1.00pm)
Sat 25 July (10.30am-1.00pm)
Fri 4 September (10.30am-1.00pm)
Sat 10 October (10.30am-1.00pm)

Walk through this ancient landscape for 2-3 hours with our knowledgeable guides, learning about the rare ecology, wildlife and history of Haddon Medieval Park, as well as fascinating information about how the parkland was used for the support of the hall and its household from the 14th Century.

Tickets are £36, which includes admission to the parkland, the guided walk, and half-price admission to Haddon Hall on the same day.

This summer, Haddon Hall once again provides a magnificent setting for a series of live music performances 🎶

Our Summer Music Programme begins on Sunday 31st May with Sinfonia Chorale from the East Midlands, whose uplifting choral performance will fill the historic surroundings of Haddon with music.

All Sunday performances are included within general admission, allowing visitors to combine an afternoon of music with the opportunity to explore the Hall and gardens at leisure.
