This wonderful photo captures so much of the magnificent detailing in The Great Chamber. From the intricate plasterwork, to the wooden panelling (look closely and you can see specs of paint from centuries gone by!) and the beautiful tapestries, this room has so much for you to explore and take in ☺

On July 15th, we are delighted to host a new event at Haddon - The 9th Duke’s Restoration: A presentation and tour by Haddon’s Archivist.

Starting in our Tudor Stables Studio, our archivist, Margie Burnet will give a thirty-minute presentation, which contains exclusive photography unseen by the public, and will provide a brief history of the Hall and the Manners’ absence for 200 years, which makes Haddon “the most perfect house to survive the Middle Ages”. You will learn more about the 9th Duke’s restoration of the Hall, starting in the 1920’s, using exclusive extracts from his journals.

You will then join Margie on an hour’s tour throughout the Hall and gardens, where you will discover the extent of the 9th Duke’s dedicated work. You will have the opportunity to ask Margie questions before having half an hour to explore the Hall yourself and immerse yourself in its unique charm.

This event runs from 2pm - 4pm on Wednesday 15th July and tickets are £39.50 per person. To book, please visit our website: https://www.haddonhall.co.uk/events/event/the-9th-dukes-restoration-a-presentation-and-tour-by-haddons-archivist/
