Bolton Irish Community Association will be travelling to Pendle & District Irish Society in Nelson on Sunday 22nd November 2026 for the upcoming IDL Meeting.

☘️ Wonderful news for our community! ☘️

Bolton Irish Community Association is delighted to have received a £12,000 Emigrant Support Programme Grant towards our weekly Elders Luncheon and Culture Club.

The funding will help us continue bringing members together at The Southfields for a hot meal, bingo, a raffle and, most importantly, good company. 💚

A huge thank you to the Irish Government Department of Foreign Affairs for supporting our community from July 2026 to June 2027. 🇮🇪

We’re incredibly grateful for the support! ☘️

💚 Remembering Jimmy Cricket

We are saddened to hear of the passing of Jimmy Cricket, born James Mulgrew, the much-loved Northern Irish comedian whose warmth, humour and unmistakable style brought laughter to generations.

Jimmy's ability to bring people together through comedy made him a true favourite on both sides of the Irish Sea, and he will be fondly remembered by so many.

Our thoughts are with his family, friends and everyone whose lives he touched.

Bolton Irish Association is proud to support Lee Gormley a talented boxer who was born in Bolton with proud Armagh roots.

Lee returns to the ring on **Saturday 12th September** in Preston, and we'd love to see him backed by plenty of local support.

📺 This Tuesday on *The Irish in the UK

We're at Broughton Park, Manchester for the Northern Community Gaelic Games, celebrating the young players, volunteers and families behind Gaelic football, hurling and camogie.

The programme also features the official opening of Broughton Park's new full-size Gaelic pitches, home to Lancashire GAA's Centre of Excellence.
