A new hybrid radio fire detection system has just been installed within this listed building, using Fusion RLM devices from EMS.

The system provides full fire detection coverage while minimising the need for invasive cabling, helping protect the building’s structure without compromising on safety.

An extension to a school’s fire detection system was carried out during the last half term, covering an area of higher risk identified during a recent fire and rescue service visit to the DT classrooms.

Works were completed while the site was quiet to minimise disruption, ensuring the area is now properly covered and brought in line with requirements.

A school recently had its lift replaced and upgraded by the team.

As part of the works, we extended the existing access control system to the new passenger lift, ensuring only authorised users are able to operate it.

Using Paxton Access Ltd, the lift is now fully integrated into the wider system across the site.

New FD30S door set installed.

If an FD30S fire door set is required, it also needs the correct test evidence behind it. A field of application report ensures all components have been tested together and will perform as intended.

If parts are mixed from different manufacturers without that evidence, the door may only be considered notional.

As the install shows, how the door is fitted is just as important as the door itself. The lining and fire sealing play a key role - if not installed correctly, they can quickly become a weak point in the compartmentation.

We’ve recently replaced these under-stairs storage doors after damage left them no longer fit for purpose.

The damage to the door edges meant they could no longer resist the spread of fire as intended.

New doors have now been installed, bringing the area back up to a compliant standard.

We recently supplied and installed a new safety handrail system and ladder access systems, using equipment from Saferail Systems, with all works completed and signed off by Kings Group SW.

Temporary scaffolding has now been removed, the site cleared, and the project handed back to the school’s site team.

The school can now safely access all roof areas for ongoing routine maintenance.

A good result all round and a solid bit of teamwork from everyone involved.

Vandalism left this door unsecured, putting the property at risk.

We attended the same day to make the door safe and lockable, before returning the following day to replace the door and lining properly.
