🚨 Appointment as Shadow Pensions Minister

I'm honoured to have been appointed Shadow Pensions Minister.

As a chartered accountant who spent 17 years in the private sector before my election to Parliament, I don't take this role lightly.

Too many people across the country worry whether they've saved enough, or what retirement will actually look like when the time comes.

I grew up in a single parent family, so I know what it means to worry about money, and how much peace of mind financial security can bring.

My job now is to hold this government to account on pensions policy and to help build a system that gives everyone, whatever their background, the chance of a comfortable and dignified retirement.

👮‍♂️ It was a rainy start to the weekend for PC 1947 Dave and PCSO 6174 Jon as they undertook putting up signage in School Lane Playing Fields and conducted foot patrols along Sibson Road, engaging with local businesses and discussing any issues or concerns around ASB and Shoplifting.

👮🏻‍♂️ Both PC Dave & PCSO Jon will be hoping the weather improves tomorrow, Sunday the 30th of August 2026 when, alongside PC 1651 Jason, PC 743 Jason, PCSO 6024 Ella (all from neighbouring Syston & Thurmaston beat) and Police Volunteers Pat & KB, PC Dave & PCSO Jon will be at King Lear's Car Park at Watermead Country Park for a Bike Register Event alongside the Junior Park Run, between 9am and 12 midday.
