Today is Back British Farming Day
Cllr Councillor George Hollyhead - Reform UK went to support our farmers at their event in Shrewsbury.
As one of the most rural counties is England residents of Shropshire know how important our farmers are.
I was delighted to go along today and show my support for our Shropshire farmers at the Back British Farming Day event in Shrewsbury.
As someone from a farming background, born and raised here in Shropshire, I know just how important farming is to our county. Our farmers work incredibly hard, not only to put food on our tables, but also to support rural communities, care for our countryside and contribute so much to the local economy.
British farming deserves a fair deal. That means:

๐พ Protecting our food security and productive farmland
๐ Cutting unnecessary bureaucracy and giving farmers a more stable policy framework
๐ Making sure Britisddw fff h farmers are not undercut by lower-standard imports
๐จโ๐พ Supporting the next generation of farmers and family farm succession
๐ก Protecting the rural communities, services and businesses that depend on a strong farming sector
Shropshire has a proud farming tradition, and it is vital that the people who work the land and produce our food are listened to and properly supported.
I will continue to speak up for our farming communities, raise the issues that matter to them and push for better support for the farmers who do so much for Shropshire and for our country.
