Currently babysitting (at their homes) 2 handsome reptiles including this little tortoise ๐Ÿฅฐ so funny to watch (I got huffed at when his runaround was over!

Although beardies donโ€™t live as long as tortoises theyโ€™re a big commitment too. Iโ€™m often asked about good pets - I always recommend hissing cockroaches or giant snails ๐ŸŒ for children. If itโ€™s a teenager with adults happy to take on the care long-term, then reptiles can make lovely members of the family.

I know these reptile rescues have a few tortoises, beardies & cornsnakes looking for homes if you do have time & money to provide a loving home, try to rehome rather than encouraging breeding: https://www.facebook.com/share/1BcckbgDtV/?mibextid=wwXIfr

So excited to see this hummingbird hawk moth in the garden at the weekend ๐Ÿฅฐ has been a brilliant year for moths & butterflies. Just donโ€™t forget to leave out little dishes with gravel & water in for the imvertebrates. ๐ŸŒ ๐Ÿชฒ ๐Ÿ

This wonderful flower beetle has been a grub for around 2 yearsโ€ฆ
I was checking on the cocoon & it broke so was probably being chewed a bit inside & was ready to emerge!

All was forgiven after some fruit jelly ๐Ÿฅฐ

Always hectic at the end of term & I missed posting on ๐Ÿ world snake ๐Ÿday! ๐Ÿ˜ฑ so here are a few snake facts to make up for it with photos of our gorgeous cornsnake Rusty! ๐Ÿ Alot of snakes are live bearers instead of laying eggs as its safer for them. Only our native grass snakes in the UK lay eggs. Because they are cold blooded, they often survey reptiles by putting out corrugated iron sheets to check in the summer.

HAVE A GREAT SUMMER EVERYONE!

I still love raising froglets - could watch the tadpoles all day! Thankfully most of ours had metamorphosed before the heatwave & we popped them all back in the pond. We tend to take the spawn out now otherwise we never see tadpoles because I think they all get eaten! We have already seen the froglets again since we released them ๐Ÿฅฐ

Were you lucky enough to see tadpoles this year?
