The wait is nearly over… Taibach Community Library reopens its doors tomorrow! 🥳📖

After our short closure, we’re really looking forward to welcoming everyone back and getting back to doing what we love - serving our community. ❤️

Whether you’re coming in to borrow a book, use our computers and Wi-Fi, pick up some stationery, have a browse, or simply pop in for a chat, we’ll be ready to welcome you! ☕️📚

We're pleased to let you know that Taibach Community Library will reopen from Tuesday 1 September.

Thank you to everyone for your patience and understanding during our temporary closure. We really appreciate the support and kind messages we've received.

A huge thank you to everyone who came along to our Afternoon Tea in aid of Breast Cancer Now.

Thanks to your incredible generosity, we're delighted to share that together we raised £507 for this fantastic cause! 🎉

Whether you joined us for tea and cake, made a donation, baked something delicious, volunteered your time, or simply helped spread the word – every contribution made a difference.

Taibach Community Library is run by a fantastic team of volunteers who give up their time to support our community.

We ask that everyone who visits the library treats our volunteers and fellow library users with courtesy and respect.

We understand that not everyone will always be happy with every decision or service we provide, and our volunteers will always do their best to help within the services and facilities we are able to provide.

As outlined in our Library Rules, abusive, threatening or aggressive behaviour towards volunteers or other library users will not be tolerated. Anyone displaying such behaviour may be asked to leave the premises, banned from the library and, where appropriate, reported to the police.

Thank you to everyone who continues to support our volunteers and helps keep Taibach Community Library a safe, welcoming and respectful place for all.

Taibach Library exists because of the generosity and vision of Emily Charlotte Talbot.

In 1913, after local Councillor William Lewis JP successfully campaigned for a public library, Emily Charlotte Talbot donated the land on the condition that it would always be used as a library and residence for a librarian or caretaker. She also donated £100 towards the purchase of books.

Together with a £2,500 grant from the Carnegie Trust, her generosity made the creation of Taibach Library possible. More than a century later, her legacy continues to benefit our community every day.
