Looking for a special way to show Dad, Grandad, or that father figure in your life some love? Bring the little ones along to Taibach Community Library for a fun morning of crafting!

We’ll have all the supplies ready for children to get creative and design a unique, handmade Father's Day card that will be cherished forever.

📅 Session Details:
Date: Saturday 20 June 2026

Time: 10:30 AM – 12:30 PM

Cost: 50p contribution per child (to help cover session costs)

This week we're celebrating the incredible difference libraries make in their communities — and here at Taibach Community Library, we see that impact every day.

We're much more than a place to borrow books. We're a welcoming community hub where people of all ages can learn, connect, create and belong.

Whether you're looking for your next great read, free access to computers and Wi-Fi, help with digital skills, local information, or simply a friendly place to visit, we're here for you.

What a fantastic way to kick off Volunteers’ Week! 🎉

Today we’re at a wonderful event at The New Plaza, Port Talbot, celebrating the incredible volunteers who make such a difference across our communities. 💛

We’re absolutely thrilled to have received a Highly Commended award in the Arts, Culture and Heritage category. 🏆

A huge thank you to our volunteers and trustees who dedicate their time and energy week after week to support our library. Your enthusiasm, commitment, and belief in what we do help make our library the vibrant community space it is today. ✨

📊 Where Your Support Goes: Our Annual Financial Update
As a charity-run community library, transparency is everything to us. We want to share a quick breakdown of our finances for the year ending May 2025, so you can see exactly how your incredible support keeps our doors open and our community thriving! 💙

📥 Where Our Income Came From:
Every penny raised goes right back into serving Taibach. This past year, our total income of £22,450 came from:

Grants: £17,621 (With huge thanks to NPTCBC, Cae Garw Solar Farm, and Margam Community Benefit Fund!)

Library Clubs: £2,687 (Raised directly by our wonderful club members)

Other Donations: £2,142 (From book sales, photocopying, and your generous individual donations)

📤 Where Your Money Was Spent:
Running a community hub takes a lot of resources. Our total expenditures of £23,630 were invested in:

Improving the Library: £13,226 (Refurbishing our children’s area and replacing our public computers)

Utility Bills: £6,009 (Covering essential gas and electricity to keep the building running)

Warm Space Project: £4,395 (Funding our dedicated project to give everyone a safe, cozy place to gather)

✨ The Impact of Your Support
Because of your generosity, grants, and club memberships, we successfully:

☀️ Kept the library warm, safe, and open all year round.

🧸 Created an amazing new children’s area for our young readers.

💻 Provided brand-new computers and updated technology for everyone to use.
