Join artist Dawn Woolley to create small sculptures using recycled materials, inspired by her own work.
Dawn’s latest exhibition ‘Relics: Objects of Devotion for Contemporary Life’ is currently on display in our North Gallery and features a new series of Relics artefacts made from rubbish collected between the gallery and Manchester Victoria station.
For this workshop, participants will be able to create their own relic sculptures using a wide selection of recycled materials including cardboard, plastic bottles, bags and more.
All materials have been sourced by museum staff and cleaned prior to the session! Dawn will lead visitors through her process and provide expert guidance on working with these materials.
The activity will be a great opportunity to look at everyday objects in a creative context, while simultaneously considering the wider impacts of consumerism.
