It's Bookbug Week and we're all set up here at St Andrews Library for Bookbug's Big Quest. Celebrate with your little one; have an adventure together, find some treasure, or cuddle up and share a story.

We've got our regular storytelling, song and rhyme sessions running on Thursday 21 May (11.30am) and Saturday 23 May (10.30am), as well as a chance for families to take part in their own quest across the week.

Find and count all the Bookbug pictures we've hidden in the library, then pop your entry into our special competition box for a chance to win one of 7 mini Bookbugs and a book bundle. Winners will be selected at random and notified by 20th June.

👣May is National Walking Month and to celebrate, we've curated an eclectic selection of walk-themed fiction and non-fiction titles here at the library.

Pilgrimages, dramatic quests, wild adventures, ways of walking to enhance mental health and wellbeing or to reflect and reminisce - it's a collection designed to put a spring in your step.

Why not plan a wee walk to the Library and browse our lovely new display? Or download the Libby app from https://www.overdrive.com/apps/libby and access a plethora of digital audiobooks to listen to while you walk. 👣

Still a few spaces left this Friday, 17 April at 1.30pm for our lively bilingual family storytelling session, ¡Vamos! A Forest Adventure with children's author Kirsty Willow.

Little explorers will learn simple Spanish words as they follow Mateo, Leo, and their dog Churro on a magical nature adventure.

The session includes:
- Interactive storytelling with actions and repeated Spanish phrases
- Song time featuring easy bilingual songs
- A hands-on craft activity inspired by the book.

This free event is for children ages 5 and under (and you don’t have to speak Spanish to attend).

Places must be booked in advance by email to [email protected] or by calling 01334 659378.

Looking for something to do with the kids this Easter weekend?

We're running free craft sessions in the library - where wee ones can paint, draw, build lego or simply get lost in our selection of lovely Springtime story books.

Running Friday, Saturday and Monday in our upstairs workshop space - no need to book, just drop in anytime*.

(*we close for lunch between 12.30-1.30 daily.)

Join children’s author Kirsty Willow for a fun and family-friendly interactive bilingual storytime at the library on Friday 17 April at 1.30pm.

Families are invited to enjoy a lively reading of ¡Vamos! A Forest Adventure, part of the Vamos, Churro preschool Spanish series. Little explorers will learn simple Spanish words as they follow Mateo, Leo, and their dog Churro on a magical nature adventure.

The session includes:

Digital Drop-In sessions at the Library start this afternoon.

Struggling to get online, download apps or shop online or need tips on how to search the internet safely, update privacy settings and manage your passwords? Or want top tips on how to take photos, send emails or text messages or to navigate our Libby and Press Reader apps? Digital Drop-in is here to help.

The Community Learning and Development team's digital tutor will set up shop in the Library each week, ready to troubleshoot your tech issues.
