The Speaker of the House of Representatives of Grenada, Honorable Leo Cato, received the Ambassador of Cuba to that country, Yadirys Echenique Paz, in a meeting that reaffirmed the will of both parties to strengthen institutional ties and bilateral cooperation.

During the meeting, the Cuban diplomat conveyed the warm greetings of the leadership of the National Assembly of People’s Power (ANPP), highlighting the good state of relations between the legislatures of both countries and the willingness of the parliamentary authorities in Havana to maintain a fluid dialogue with their Grenadian counterparts.

For his part, Leo Cato reiterated Grenada’s support for Cuba in times of external hostility and emphasized that solidarity with the Greater of the Antilles remains unwavering for Grenadian institutions. He also agreed that the current energy siege imposed by the United States government on Cuba constitutes an act of injustice without any foundation.

The Speaker further recalled that he has travelled to Cuba on several occasions, a country for which, he affirmed, he feels great affection. In this regard, Leo Cato has been, within Grenada’s legislative bodies, an important voice in denouncing the U.S. blockade against Cuba.

“The U.S. Secretary of State constantly, and with full intention, misrepresents ’s figures and response regarding the amounts of aid announced by his government since November 2025.

From the very first announcement, Cuba’s position has remained unchanged: our Government does not reject or obstruct aid that is offered without conditions, no matter how cynical or ridiculous it may appear.

It took them more than six months to complete the delivery of the first aid valued at 3 million USD. Nearly four months to send part of the 6 million USD announced.

How long could it take them to deliver the 100 million USD? And what can 100 million USD mean, when their economic blockade and energy siege cause annual damages of more than 5 billion USD?

The Secretary of State and his Department have no real interest in delivering that aid in the short term. So many lies and delays only demonstrate the clearly propagandistic nature of those announcements.

Wouldn’t it be more humanitarian to lift the illegal energy siege?

According to the United Nations, 170 containers of essential goods that have already arrived in Cuba, equivalent to approximately $6.3 million, are not reaching their intended recipients due to fuel shortages.

The US energy blockade against Cuba has a real and serious impact on the Cuban population. It is part of the collective punishment that the US government is inflicting on the Cuban people.

It not only limits the performance of the Cuban economy but also hinders the work of international agencies and organizations, demonstrating its extraterritorial nature.

Según Naciones Unidas, 170 contenedores de productos esenciales que ya han llegado a Cuba, equivalentes a unos 6,3 millones de dólares, no están llegando a los beneficiarios debido a la escasez de combustible.

El bloqueo energético de contra tiene un impacto real y grave en la población cubana. Es parte del castigo colectivo que aplica el gobierno estadounidense contra el pueblo cubano.

Académica granadina llama a sostener la solidaridad caribeña con Cuba en tiempos de crisis

La profesora granadina Wendy C. Gr***de publicó recientemente un artículo sobre la vigencia del legado de la Revolución de Granada y el papel de Cuba en el desarrollo de la isla caribeña, en el contexto de las tensiones geopolíticas actuales.

En su análisis, la autora subraya que Cuba ha sido durante décadas un referente mundial por su visión internacionalista, su humanitarismo y su diplomacia en salud, y destaca la capacidad de sacrificio de los cubanos en servicio de otros. Grenadian academic calls for sustaining Caribbean solidarity with Cuba in times of crisis

In her analysis, the author underscores that Cuba has for decades been a global reference point for its internationalist vision, humanitarianism, and health diplomacy, highlighting the Cuban people’s capacity for sacrifice in service to others. She notes that, in Grenada’s case, many working-class families were able to overcome poverty thanks to scholarships granted by Cuba, which allowed their children to train in fields such as medicine, engineering, and veterinary science.

UN Human Rights Chief urges lifting of U.S. coercive measures against Cuba

Geneva, June 8, 2026.- United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Türk called on Monday for the immediate lifting of the sanctions imposed by the United States against Cuba, warning that their expansion is causing serious humanitarian consequences and endangering the lives of the Cuban people.

According to Türk, the fuel restrictions implemented since early 2026, together with the tightening of extraterritorial sanctions, are severely affecting access to essential goods and services, particularly for the most vulnerable sectors of the population. He stressed that shortages of medicines and medical supplies are putting lives at risk and described the situation as "unacceptable."

The UN official noted that the measures have deepened the country's energy crisis, causing prolonged blackouts and disrupting food production, healthcare services and humanitarian operations. He also warned that the sanctions are generating broad and indiscriminate effects that are incompatible with the fundamental principles of international human rights law.

Türk urged companies and financial institutions to avoid excessive compliance practices that further restrict humanitarian activities and called for greater international cooperation to prevent a worsening of Cuba's social and economic situation.

Alto Comisionado de la ONU insta a poner fin a las medidas coercitivas de EE.UU. contra Cuba

Ginebra, 8 de junio de 2026.- El Alto Comisionado de las Naciones Unidas para los Derechos Humanos, Volker Türk, instó este lunes al levantamiento inmediato de las sanciones impuestas por Estados Unidos contra Cuba, advirtiendo que su ampliación está provocando graves consecuencias humanitarias y poniendo en peligro la vida del pueblo cubano.

Según Türk, las restricciones al suministro de combustible aplicadas desde principios de 2026, junto con el endurecimiento de las sanciones extraterritoriales, están afectando gravemente el acceso a bienes y servicios esenciales, particularmente para los sectores más vulnerables de la población. Asimismo, subrayó que la escasez de medicamentos e insumosmédicos está poniendo en riesgo vidas humanas y calificó la situación de "inaceptable".

El Alto Comisionado indicó que estas medidas han profundizado la crisis energética del país, provocando apagones prolongados e interrumpiendo la producción de alimentos, los servicios de salud y las operaciones humanitarias. Asimismo, advirtió que las sanciones generan efectos amplios e indiscriminados que resultan incompatibles con los principios fundamentales del derecho internacional de los derechos humanos.

Intercambia embajadora cubana con ministro granadino de Movilización, Implementación y Transformación.

El Honorable Andy Williams, ministro de Movilización, Implementación y Transformación de Granada, recibió recientemente a la embajadora de Cuba en ese país, Yadirys Echenique Paz. Durante el encuentro, ambas partes destacaron la importancia de fortalecer la cooperación bilateral en las áreas vinculadas a la gestión pública y al desarrollo institucional.

📌Declaración del Gobierno Revolucionario

Cuba, el G*E y Estados Unidos: anatomía de una calumnia de Estado

El G*E no es una estructura opaca, ni paralela al Estado cubano; ha sido, por el contrario, una respuesta articulada de probada eficiencia frente al cerco económico que históricamente ha tratado de asfixiar a la Revolución cubana

El gobierno de los Estados Unidos ha vuelto a actuar con premeditada intención en el afán por construir pretextos para desacreditar a la Revolución cubana, su liderazgo histórico, los dirigentes y, con ello, confundir tanto a nuestro pueblo como a la opinión pública internacional.

Todo responde a una hoja de ruta diseñada por ideólogos de la ultraderecha cubanoamericana, que se jactan de ser creativos e impredecibles. Su estrategia se centra en el uso de herramientas que incrementen de manera extrema e inusitada la política de máxima presión.

A ese plan obedecen las más recientes sanciones contra Cuba dadas a conocer el pasado primero de mayo. La Orden Ejecutiva 14404 identifica como blanco al Grupo de Administración Empresarial (G*E), esta vez, en articulación con las denominadas sanciones secundarias dirigidas a todo actor extranjero que realice operaciones de cualquier tipo con este Grupo, haciendo énfasis en las presiones contra las instituciones financieras.

Se trata de la escalada más intensa, desproporcionada y peligrosa en la historia reciente de las relaciones entre Cuba y Estados Unidos.

El fin deliberado es aislar al país de manera diplomática, comercial, financiera y energética; imposibilitar la sostenibilidad de la nación; condicionar el diálogo y evaluar variantes de agresión militar. Necesitan construir y consolidar una narrativa de descrédito reputacional contra todas las instituciones que constituyen el sostén de nuestro proyecto social.

El G*E nació en pleno Período Especial para enfrentar la guerra económica, con una visión creativa, propia, autóctona y genuinamente cubana. Su objetivo siempre ha sido agrupar empresas con capacidades en la generación de divisas y recursos que el Estado requiere para mantener y desarrollar las conquistas sociales y contribuir al fomento de sectores y ramas de la vida nacional.

Son incontables los servicios prestados a la Patria por el Grupo de Administración Empresarial. Los aportes materiales y financieros de esta organización se pueden constatar en disímiles ejemplos: en la construcción de más de 10 mil viviendas en diversas provincias del país, en la creación de un Campamento de pioneros y planes vacacionales para la infancia, en la manera en que se sostuvo la economía cubana durante los años de la pandemia de COVID-19.

Los frutos de esta actividad empresarial han sido destinados también a inversiones en la termoeléctrica Lidio Ramón Pérez (Felton) de Holguín, al diseño y consolidación de grandes obras hidráulicas, entre ellas los trasvases Este-Oeste y Norte-Sur para el beneficio de millones de cubanas y cubanos. Ahí están las inversiones y reparaciones hechas a policlínicos, casas del médico de la familia y a escuelas. Actividades todas que han sido informadas sistemáticamente a la dirección del Partido, el Estado y el Gobierno y, en todos los casos, objeto del máximo control y fiscalización de las autoridades y mecanismos competentes.

El G*E no es una estructura opaca, ni paralela al Estado cubano; ha sido, por el contrario, una respuesta articulada de probada eficiencia frente al cerco económico que históricamente ha tratado de asfixiar a la Revolución cubana.

Tal como expresó el Primer Secretario del Comité Central del Partido y Presidente de la República, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, en el 8vo Congreso del Partido, resulta rigurosamente histórico el perfeccionamiento empresarial desarrollado en primer lugar al interior de las Fuerzas Armadas Revolucionarias, experiencia que luego sirvió al país y cuyos notables resultados tributan a la economía nacional.

Miles de hombres y mujeres, durante estos últimos 30 años, han sido guardianes discretos de los recursos del país y merecen el reconocimiento. Aunque su obra no haya sido contada lo suficiente, habla por sí sola y lo hace por encima de la calumnia de Estado urdida desde Washington.

Hoy, cuando la voluntad del pueblo cubano se expresa en un proceso de cambios, contenidos en el Programa Económico y Social del Gobierno, esta organización es parte activa de las transformaciones del sistema empresarial del país.

El G*E no es obra del secretismo, ni de élites y mucho menos la vía de enriquecimiento de unos pocos. Es, por el contrario, uno de los tantos ejemplos que a lo largo de nuestro camino nos ha permitido resistir la agresión permanente del gobierno de Estados Unidos. Su historia se construyó, al decir del Líder de la Revolución Cubana, General de Ejército Raúl Castro Ruz: «sin el menor ánimo de protagonismo, como se hacen las cosas serias».

Cuba is not a threat. We are a country that will always advocate for respect and peace among nations, but will not accept impositions of any kind.
