PUBLIC HEALTH ADVISORY #2 – Ebola Virus Disease (EVD).

Ministry of Health, Grenada – Official Travel Advisory - Ebola Bundibugyo Virus Disease Outbreak in Central and East Africa,

ST. GEORGE’S, GRENADA, THURSDAY, JUNE 11, 2026 – The Ministry of Health, in its ongoing efforts to safeguard Grenada’s borders and protect the health of all citizens, issues the following public health travel advisory.

In response to the latest global health developments and the World Health Organization’s (WHO) declaration of the current Ebola Bundibugyo Virus Disease outbreak as a Public Health Emergency of International Concern, the Government of Grenada has determined that immediate precautionary measures are necessary.
Grenadian citizens are strongly advised to avoid all non essential travel to the following countries where Ebola Bundibugyo Virus Disease has been confirmed:

• Democratic Republic of the Congo
• Uganda

Additionally, the Ministry urges extreme caution when travelling to the following countries identified by the Africa CDC as high risk for Ebola transmission, including: Angola, Burundi, Central African Republic, Republic of Congo, Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania, Zambia, Ethiopia and South Sudan

To protect public health, Grenada has strengthened surveillance and screening measures at all ports of entry.

Progress Update: Refurbishment Works at Sauteurs Health Center and Grand Roy Medical Station.

ST. GEORGE’S, GRENADA, WEDNESDAY, 10 JUNE 2026, _ The Ministry of Health is pleased to update the public on the ongoing refurbishment works at the Sauteurs Health Center in St. Patrick and the Grand Roy Medical Station in St. John, which began nearly one month ago.

These projects are part of the Ministry’s wider initiative to strengthen healthcare delivery across the Western and Northern corridor of the island.

REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN for the first distribution of FREE reading glasses under the Restoring Vision Grenada Initiative!

If you live in St. David, are over the age of 40, and would like to receive a pair of reading glasses, please contact your district health facility to register.

The Restoring Vision Grenada Initiative is an islandwide programme, and distributions will take place across Grenada, Carriacou, and Petite Martinique over the next few months. If you are not part of this first distribution or miss this round, rest assured there will be future distribution cycles in other communities.
