This week, in partnership with the Guam Community College, we celebrate the completion of the Second Youthbuild Cohort.

Youthbuild is a youth empowerment and development program that provides education, training, and community learning to individuals between the ages of 18-24 that have not completed highschool. The program is to transform the lives of students through education, training, motivation, and provide the skills necessary to succeed in life.

A total of 46 students began their summer employment with 13 employers last week to commence the 2026 In-School Youth (ISY) Year-Round Program Summer Employment. Among the students who started last week are Hilton Resort Guam interns Kailena Letarofyalo, Kayonaleen Roby, Jomaleen Walichu, and Jadyn San Nicolas. All four were tasked with office-related work and gave good feedback about their first day on the job.

At Carpet Masters/The Shutter Factory, sisters Lucilldah and Lydia Moon said they enjoyed organizing and sorting documents in the office.

Dusit Thani Guam and Dusit Beach Resort had ISY summer interns in Security, Engineering, Culinary, Guest Services, and Housekeeping. They include: Josiah John, Casey Subido, Ellioanna Ringlen, Maphrik Kimiuo, Finon Philip, Kiamarie Apusa, Macson Micah, Johnvinsen Roby, and Tess Johnny.

Calvo’s Insurance ISY summer interns, who were assigned to clerical and customer service duties, include Jevany Eliser, Laviana Lairopi, Petra Louis, and Mea Bargender.

Harper Valley Kennels’ Dylan Stremmelaar was assisting with pet services at the animal hospital.
