Deeds and Commercial Registries Authority The Deeds Registry comprises two broad sections, Conveyancing and Notarial.

The Deeds Registry is guided by the Deeds Registry At Chapter 5:01 in relation to the Law. The Purpose of the Deeds Registry is to efficiently and expeditiously administer the laws enacted by Parliament affecting land, whether by way of transport, leases, mortgages or any other alienation thereof, powers of attorney, contracts and other deeds.

Guyana observed Earth Day 2026 on April 22 under the global theme "Our Power, Our Planet," emphasizing conservation of its 80%+ forest cover amidst rapid oil development. Key actions included the launch of the "Shout for Change" 4.0 Youth Competition" and a "Bridging People with Nature" exhibition at the Guyana-China Friendship Park.

The 2026 focus is on sustainable development, balancing economic growth with the protection of immense biodiversity. On the 4th May, 2026, staff of the Intellectual Property Department of the Commerical Registry attended a youth exhibition promoting environmental awareness and stewardship among students at the Guyana-China Friendship Park.

There were presentations made from the World Wildlife Fund and Rupununi Bee Keepers Association with particular emphasis on focusing on practical sustainability, including renewable energy adoption (solar), tree planting, and responsible waste management.The celebrations highlighted Guyana's unique position as a carbon-sink nation taking active steps toward sustainable development and climate awareness.

The Deeds and Commercial Registries Authority is pleased to participate in the "Business Clinic" hosted by the Ministry of Tourism, Industry and Commerce at Westminster Secondary School on April 7th, 2026.

The event serves as a centralized hub designed to bring essential government regulatory and developmental services directly to local neighborhoods.

​Key Objectives of the Business Clinic:

1. ​Centralized Support: To act as a "one-stop shop," allowing entrepreneurs to inquire information on registration processes and inquiries in a single visit.

2. ​Bureaucracy Reduction: To simplify the complex landscape of business compliance by removing the need to visit multiple distant offices.

3. ​Direct Engagement: To facilitate face-to-face problem-solving between business owners and technical experts.

Service Scope:
1. ​Representatives from a wide array of state entities—including the Small Business Bureau, GRA, NIS, and the Local Content Secretariat—provided hands-on assistance.

Participants received guidance on:
1. ​Legal business registration and tax compliance.

2. ​Industry standards and quality certifications.
