We're excited for the upcoming Pride of Place Stoneybatter Festival this weekend!

As part of the festival, Grangegorman Histories are launching a new self-guided history tour of the Grangegorman site!

Developed by Lecturer and Researcher Dr Damon Berry, the new tour is accessible via a series of smart posts at key locations across the campus.

Join us this Saturday 20 June at 11.30am as we launch this tour in the East Quad with talks from Dr Philip Cohen on the history of Grangegorman and Dr Damon Berry on the project.

As part of a public call by Grangegorman Histories, lecturer and researcher Dr Damon Berry, is a launching a new self-guided history walking tour of Grangegorman using a series of smart posts.

The latest on our playground works:

- Resurfacing works are complete.
- Tyre swing and new cradle seats being installed today.
- Final checks are now underway.

We fully expect to reopen in the coming days.

Between the showers this week, the team have been hard at work laying down the new surface, and it’s fantastic to see everything starting to come together.

The colours are making a real impact, adding a bright and lively feel to the playground. We’re excited to watch it all come together in the days ahead.

Playground Update - We Have Colour! ❤️🧡💛💚🩵💙💜

Our team has started installing the new colourful safety surface as they make great progress on site this week.

Next, we’ll complete all required health and safety checks to ensure everything is fully compliant as we work towards finishing up and reopening the space.

We’ll continue to share updates and photos as we move into the very final stages, as we work towards reopening the space over the next week or two.

🌈Playground Update🛝
Work on the playground continues to make steady progress.

We are advancing well with the installation of the base layer, ahead of installing a new colourful safety surface, which will be applied once the groundwork is fully complete.

Following this, we will carry out the necessary health and safety checks to ensure everything is in place and meets all requirements.

We’ll keep you updated with regular progress reports and photos as the project moves into its final stages.

🌈Playground Update🛝

Work on the playground is continuing to move forward.
Today we are continuing to prepare the ground so we can start to lay the new safety surface.

Once we have laid the new surface and completed the relevant health, and safety checks we will be in a position to reopen the playground.

We’ll keep you updated as soon as we have more information.

🌳Playground Works Update 🙏 Thank you for your continued patience as we work to complete the upgrade and repair works on our much-loved Playground— we also appreciate the valuable feedback from our community at all stages of these works. The following repairs and improvements have now been completed:

✅ Cleaning, sanding and varnishing of 6 existing seats and the addition of 4 new seats - bringing the total number of benches available to 10
✅ Repair, power washing, cleaning and graffiti removal (where possible) to all playground equipment
✅ Repair of the zip wire
✅ The Installation of the ability swing
✅ Replacement of gate safety hinges and new closers on both gates

With these repairs now nearing completion we will move the final stage of the playground works, which will involving laying the new safety surface and then doing some final safety checks to make sure this space is ready for everyone.

Please bear with us as we close out these works as we know there’s strong interest in the space reopening and we are working to complete the remaining elements as efficiently as possible🌳👨‍👩‍👧‍👦
