Tallaght Library had another fabulous adult clothes swap this morning!

Thanks to all who took part in the event. We hope you found a cosy new look for the colder months.

We have two adult clothes swaps a year for Spring/Summer and Autumn/Winter. We will also have a children's Halloween Costume Swap in October. If you would like to keep up-to-date with these events please email us at [email protected] to be added to our mailing list.

From 12 to 18 October 2026, the Red Line Book Festival will bring a week of books, ideas and conversation to libraries, theatres and cultural spaces across South Dublin.

Whether you join us every year or this will be your first festival, there'll be plenty to discover, from author talks and workshops to poetry, history, crime, comedy and more.

We will have two Tummy Time sessions in Tallaght Library on Friday, 11th September for babies who haven't started to crawl yet.

Tummy Time is recommended to help strengthen a baby's head, neck and back muscles. In these sessions babies play on the floor beneath the beautiful light projections of the library's interactive Tovertafel (Magic Table), while parents and minders have a chat in this relaxing environment.

A big thank you to Mivaan Amin (age 9) for bringing his beautiful exhibition, "Nature Through My Eyes," to our library.

Mivaan's artwork reflects his love of nature, colour, and creativity, offering visitors a glimpse of the world through a young artist's eyes.

It's always inspiring to support and celebrate young talent in our community.

We really did beat the Back to School Blues this afternoon with a game of children's bingo run by our fabulous library staff.

Everyone walked away with a lovely prize from bingo lines, and then we had a tense few minutes as we waited for a full house!

Thanks to everyone who came along, we had lots of fun playing with you!!

Tallaght Library's Junior Book Club is back from our summer break and we have a few available spaces for new members! 📚

This book club is for children aged 9-12 years and meets on the third Thursday of each month from 3.30pm-4.30pm. Our first meeting is September 17th, which will be a general discussion about our favourite books. 📖
