‘We had a fantastic turnout for our Pride badge making event at Tallaght library on Thursday evening. We made over 100 badges celebrating diversity, equality, and self-expression. Many of the participants created their own designs in an extremely fun and safe environment. Well done to all our participants for an extremely enjoyable evening at the library! Here is a selection of some of the designs created’

We are only half way through the year, so there is still plenty of time to read 24 books and get your D24 Reads Challenge prizes!

Here’s how it works:
👉1. Pop into Tallaght or Castletymon Library
Collect your D24 Reads bookmark and trendy tote-bag.

👉2. Read at your own pace
There’s no set list - you choose what you read! Fiction, non fiction, poetry, graphic novels… all library books count.

👉3. Track your reads
For each book you finish, get your bookmark stamped at the library desk.

👉4. Collect your prizes
Collect stamps and earn prizes along the way including a National Book Token when you complete the challenge.

👉5. Join the community!
Share your recommendations, discover new books, and chat with fellow readers throughout the campaign.

Whether you read one book or twenty, this is all about celebrating reading in our community.

Tallaght Library is delighted to announce a series of creative writing workshops for teenagers, which will be ran over the 2nd, 9th, 16th and 30th of July at 3pm.

Each session will cover a different subject including character creation, plot development and how to perfect a finished piece. The sessions will be hosted by Claire Hennessy, an award-winning YA author who has published over 12 books for teens.

You do not have to attend all workshops! However, each session will cover a new topic so feel free to attend them all. Every teen writer is welcome, whether experienced or just starting out!

This event is for anyone from ages 13 – 16. The first session will focus on “breaking the blank page”. Claire Hennessy will help teen writers brainstorm new ideas and develop the start of their creative writing projects.
