DARE YOU ENTER THE ASYLUM OF HORROR? Venturing into the shadows of a haunted edifice may not be the most obvious choice for a relaxing evening with friends, but that’s exactly what a local group has devised in a new project that blends social inclusion, community connections, and creepy creative storytelling.
The Social Games Club, who meet biweekly at the Connect Laois headquarters in Portlaoise supported by our Social Inclusion programme, have graduated from merely playing board games to creating one of their own, with Asylum of Horror set to deliver unwary adventurers into the uncanny world of celebrated horror writer, H.P. Lovecraft. Copy the link in the comments below to read more about this innovative project.

Our team enjoyed a valuable afternoon's networking at the recent 'Your Money, Your Questions' Community Financial Information Session in the Midlands Park Hotel, Portlaoise. Hosted by LOETB Adult Literacy for Life and the Laois Offaly Regional Literacy Coalition, the event brought together local organisations and community members for a practical discussion on managing money, staying safe from scams, understanding financial information and knowing where to go for support. Once again, the event demonstrated the strength of the Laois Offaly Regional Literacy Coalition and what can be achieved through collaboration.
