Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency Ltd. (IREDA) organized a Strategy Meet, today, at SCOPE Complex to discuss IREDA roadmap for current year and next five (5) years. IREDA’s Strategy Meet was graced by Hon’ble Secretary, MNRE – Shri Bhupinder Singh Bhalla, IAS (1990 Batch).

At the outset, CMD, IREDA, Shri Pradip Kumar Das welcomed Hon’ble Secretary and expressed his gratitude to him for taking out his valuable time and addressing IREDA officials during the Strategy Meet. He added, “IREDA has set a benchmark among NBFC and other mainstream bankers in Renewable Energy space. The Strategy Meet will help devise a strategic roadmap, re-align company’s vision and identify bottlenecks, gaps, etc. towards not only achievement of targets set by MNRE but also speed up the RE development in the country in order to reach Government of India’s target of 500GW of installed capacity through non-fossil fuels by 2030”.

Speaking on the occasion Shri Bhalla said, “IREDA Is the Numero Uno in Renewable Financing”. He motivated IREDA officials to continue learning to keep themselves abreast with the latest offerings in Renewable Energy space and come out with suggestions and innovative measures for New & Renewable Energy development.

The Strategy Meet was attended by Director (Technical), IREDA and other officials from Technical, Legal, Finance, Risk & IT Dept. The Strategy Meet was followed by a Masterclass webinar on ‘Wind Energy’ by Mr. Lars Holm, Boston Consulting Group (BCG) Expert on Wind Energy. BCG is the Knowledge Partner for IREDA.

Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency Ltd. (IREDA) signed a historic loan agreement for Rs. 4,444.71 crore with SJVN Green Energy Ltd. (SGEL, a subsidiary of SJVN Ltd.) today, for a 1,000 MW Solar power project at Bikaner, Rajasthan.

In the presence of Shri Pradip Kumar Das, CMD, IREDA and Shri Nand Lal Sharma, CMD, SJVN, Shri Pradipta Kumar Roy, DGM (IREDA) and Shri S. L. Sharma, CEO (SGEL) signed the loan agreement at the corporate office of IREDA. Shri Chintan Shah, Director (Technical), IREDA, Shri A. K. Singh, Director (Finance), SJVN, Dr. R. C. Sharma, CFO, Smt. Debjani Bhatia, GM (TS), IREDA and other senior officials also graced the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, CMD, IREDA said: "We are pleased to sanction IREDA’s highest loan amount to SGEL for development of 1,000 MW Solar project. We will be able to support Govt. of India to achieve its targets of 50% share of energy from non-fossil fuels by 2030 through this kind of cooperation. Also, this partnership will encourage green investment and generate both direct and indirect employment opportunities.”

The IREDA funded project will connect to 400/220 KV substation Bikaner-II (near Bikaner). SJVN has bagged the project through the tender floated by IREDA under the CPSU Phase-II (Tranche III) Scheme for development of Grid connected Solar PV Power Project through competitive Bidding Process based on VGF support.

IREDA holds 12th Stakeholders’ Interaction Meet

New Delhi, December 12, 2022.

The 12th edition of the IREDA Stakeholders’ Interaction meet was held on 10.12.2022, to share new initiatives, future plans and seek feedback from business partners. The Stakeholders meet, chaired by Chairman & Managing Director (CMD), IREDA, Shri Pradip Kumar Das was convened through virtual platform.

The stakeholder’s meet started with a brief presentation on IREDA's recent achievements, major initiatives undertaken for RE development, ex*****on of suggestions received during the previous interaction meets and future plans for the RE sector's growth in line with target set by Govt. of India. The discussion was followed by an interactive session with the CMD, Director (Technical) and Team IREDA.

In his opening remarks, CMD, IREDA, said that it is a matter of great pride that India has assumed the charge of G 20 presidency, which will offer a unique opportunity for all IREDA stakeholders to contribute to the global agenda on Renewable Energy and Energy Transition issues and further support Govt. of India’s efforts in achieving 50% cumulative power installed capacity from non-fossil fuel-based energy resources by 2030 and reaching net-zero by 2070. He further advised all IREDA Stakeholders to participate in ‘Agni Tattva’ workshop, being organised by Power Foundation of India in coordination with Ministry of Power, between 28th – 30th January and ‘India Energy Week’, scheduled from 6th – 8th February in Bengaluru, India, under the patronage of Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas.

CMD, IREDA urged all stakeholders to continue to give feedback on IREDA portal as the feedback received from various stakeholders during previous interaction meetings have helped IREDA significantly improve the ‘ease of doing business’ through optimum use of digital platform leading to reduction in loan sanction, documentation and disbursement cycle and increased geographical footprint in the country, among other factors. He also mentioned that IREDA has launched several new financial products and schemes to tap the RE market, apart from reviewing interest rates on regular intervals.

CMD, IREDA added, "IREDA has set a benchmark among NBFC and other mainstream bankers in Renewable Energy space. All the stakeholders play a significant role in IREDA's best-ever annual financial performance. They are not just our clients, but also our business partners. As a result, we value stakeholder suggestions and feedback. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the stakeholders for their proactive and consistent support in ensuring the IREDA's continued growth and faster development of Renewable Energy in the country”.

The stakeholders expressed their gratitude to IREDA for its solution-oriented approach and speedy turnaround for RE loan processing backed by lowest interest rates, despite hikes in repo rate by RBI. The business partners complemented IREDA for the feedback portal, facilitating regular suggestions and active participation by the Stakeholders. Some of the borrowers added that with the best banking experience, IREDA remains as an “Always IREDA” choice to the RE developers via consistent modifications of policies in line with the industry demands, customized offerings for the growth of clean energy ecosystem and best corporate governance.

At the end, business partners were praised for their active participation and helpful suggestions.

IREDA CMD addresses gathering at Sectoral Session on “Renewable Energy & Equipment (Green Hydrogen & Solar)”

Shri Pradip Kumar Das, Chairman & Managing Director (CMD), Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency Limited (IREDA), addressed a gathering at a Sectoral Session on “Renewable Energy & Equipment (Green Hydrogen & Solar)” in Bhubaneshwar, Odisha on 2nd December, 2022. The address was a part of the Make in Odisha (MIO) Conclave 2022, the flagship investor summit of the Government of Odisha. The objective of the session was to discuss the investment opportunities for manufacturing of RE and electrical equipment in the state.

In his address, CMD, IREDA, highlighted that IREDA has been maintaining its leadership position as a mother organization in Renewable Energy space for past 35 years and is continuously developing financial products to meet market requirements. The company has ended FY 2021-22 with its best-ever performance till date. IREDA has achieved the highest-ever loan sanctions of Rs. 23921.06 crores (an increase of 117% over FY 2020–21) and loan disbursements of Rs. 16070.82 crores (an increase of 82% over FY 2020–21). IREDA boasts of the largest loan book size of Rs. 33, 783 Cr of Renewable Energy in the country.

While achieving the historic targets, IREDA has ensured continuous improvement of human capital through highest level of employee care and satisfaction. He added, the above sanction and disbursement targets are achieved in conjunction with digitization, transparency, accountability, etc. to ensure speedy RE development in the country.

IREDA has significantly improved the "ease of doing business" in terms of faceless loan sanctions and disbursements, resulting in sanction of 7 projects on virtual platform, leading to reduction in loan sanction, documentation and disbursement cycle and increased geographical footprint in the country, added CMD, IREDA.

Speaking about the abundant untapped opportunities in the state of Odisha, CMD, IREDA added that the company post opening its Branch Office in August 2021 has been instrumental in sanctioning several RE projects, largely the small Hydro projects in the state. IREDA believes in playing a catalytic role, and is open to new project ideas, in comparison to other mainstream bankers and NBFCs in RE space.

He further said that these kind of initiatives will strengthen the speed in achieving the target of 500 GW of Renewable Energy capacity by 2030, set by the Hon’ble Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi. The sector session was attended by Director (Technical) and other senior officers of IREDA.

IREDA Celebrates Constitution Day

New Delhi, 26th November 2022

Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency Ltd. (IREDA) celebrated Constitution Day, today, by organizing a webinar on “Indian Constitution, Idea of India”. Constitution Day, also known as "National Law Day" or “Samvidhan Diwas”, is celebrated in India on 26 November every year to spread the importance of the constitution and to spread thoughts and ideas of Shri B.R. Ambedkar – the Father of the Constitution of India.

The webinar was conducted by Shri Nitesh Vyas – Member, Youngshala, Bhopal (MP) and former Constitutional values fellow of school for democracy (Loktantrashala), Rajasthan. Shri Vyas emphasized on the importance of constitutional values and fundamentals of Indian constitution and its relevance in current times.

CMD, IREDA addressed all IREDA officials virtually and mentioned that “The true spirit of celebrating Samvidhan Diwas lies in imbibing and implementing the four-fold ideals enshrined in the Constitution vis-à-vis Justice, Liberty, Equality and Fraternity. If we continue to endeavor to carry out these principles in our personal and professional lives and be true to this spirit, the Constitution can serve India for all times to come.”

The webinar was attended by Director (Technical) IREDA and other officials, virtually. The webinar was followed by administering pledge on Preamble of the Indian constitution at 11 AM.

Shri Pradip Kumar Das, Chairman & Managing Director (CMD), Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency Limited (IREDA), delivered a keynote address, today, at a Seminar on “National Bioenergy Programme”. The seminar was organized by Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) in collaboration with Global Environment Facility (GEF) and The United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) under the project “Organic Waste Streams for Industrial Renewable Energy Applications in India”

The inaugural session was chaired by Shri R.K.Singh, Hon’ble Minister, Power and New and Renewable Energy, Shri Bhupinder Singh Bhalla, Secretary, MNRE, Ms. Vini Mahajan, Secretary, Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation (DDWS) and Shri Dinesh Dayanand Jagdale with eminent speakers from MNRE and UNIDO. The compendium of the National Bioenergy Programme along with Biogas & Bio-Urja portal were also launched during the programme. The seminar was organized to discuss and deliberate on the challenges, opportunities & initiatives in the bioenergy sector.

In his address, CMD, IREDA, highlighted that IREDA has been maintaining its leadership position as a mother organization in Renewable Energy space for past 35 years and is continuously developing financial products to meet market requirements. The company has ended FY 2021-22 with its best-ever performance till date. IREDA has achieved the highest-ever loan sanctions of Rs. 23921.06 crores (an increase of 117% over FY 2020–21) and loan disbursements of Rs. 16070.82 crores (an increase of 82% over FY 2020–21). IREDA has a cumulative loan sanction of around 1.33 Lakh Cr. ending 31.10.2022 out of which a loan amount of ~6492 Cr. has been sanctioned to bioenergy / co-gen / WtE sectors. Further, IREDA has effected cumulative disbursements of more than 83000 Cr, out of which a loan amount of ~4097 Cr. has been disbursed against bioenergy / co-gen / WtE sectors.

While achieving the historic targets, IREDA has ensured continuous improvement of human capital through highest level of employee care and satisfaction. He added, the above sanction and disbursement targets are achieved in conjunction with digitization, transparency, accountability, etc. to ensure speedy RE development in the country.

IREDA is committed to best quality corporate governance practices in conducting business in a legal, ethical and fair manner. The qualitative Corporate Governance can enable both qualitative and quantitative improvements in stakeholders’ value, which is ultimate objective of Corporate Governance, which IREDA achieved best ever value creation for stakeholders in the worst ever business scenario due to Covid pandemic in the last two years.

IREDA Q2 Results: PBT rises 76.16% to ₹ 276.31 Crore,
Net NPAs reduced from 4.87% to 2.72%

Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency (IREDA), a PSU under the Ministry of New & Renewable Energy (MNRE), today announced audited financial results for the second quarter ended September 30, 2022. The company has posted Profit Before Tax (PBT) of ₹ 276.31 Crore, which is 76.15% higher compared to ₹156.86 crore in the Q2 of the previous financial year. IREDA's Net Non-Performing Assets (NPAs) have been reduced to 2.72% in Q2, FY 2022-23 from 4.87% in Q2, FY 2021-22, a significant reduction of 44% YoY.
Highlights of Q2, FY 2022-23 as compared to the corresponding period during Q2, FY 2021–22 are as follows:

• Profit Before Tax: ₹276.31 crore as against ₹156.86 crore (up by 76.15%)
• Profit After Tax: ₹184.30 crore as against ₹110.27 crore (up by 67.14%)
• Gross Income: ₹791.56 crore as against ₹682.94 crore (up by 15.90%)
• Net-worth: ₹5,638.31 crore as against ₹3,333.19 crore (up by 69.16%)
• Loan Book: ₹33,783.36 crore as against ₹28,856.48 crore (up by 17.07%)
• Loan Sanction: ₹11,226.49 crore as against ₹5925.12 crore (up by 89.47%)
• Net NPAs: 2.72% as against 4.87% (reduction by 44.00%)
• Gross NPAs: 5.06% as against 8.05% (reduction by 37.17%)

Shri Pradip Kumar Das, Chairman & Managing Director (CMD), IREDA, highlighted: "IREDA has registered growth in quarterly PBT and PAT by 76.15% and 67.14% respectively, and has also registered a significant reduction in gross and net NPAs, which is a big achievement for any NBFC.

CMD, IREDA highlighted that this would not have been possible without the contribution of Team IREDA. He thanked all employees for their consistent hard work and support. He conveyed his sincere gratitude to Shri R. K. Singh, Hon’ble Union Minister of Power, New and Renewable Energy, and Shri Bhagwanth Khuba, Hon’ble Minister of State, New & Renewable Energy, Chemicals & Fertilizers, for their continuous guidance and support. "Vigilance Awareness Week 2022" on the theme "Corruption Free India for a Developed Nation" was concluded on November 7th, 2022, at the registered office of Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency Ltd. (IREDA). Shri Lalit Bohra, Joint Secretary and CVO, Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, graced the valedictory function.

Shri Bohra lauded IREDA for its preventive vigilance measures and "Zero Tolerance Against Corruption." Further, he praised IREDA for its considerable and ongoing efforts to promote the growth of Renewable Energy sector in the country as an industry leader.

Ms. Manisha Saxena, CVO, IREDA, briefed the Joint Secretary, MNRE, on the organization's vigilance activities. She pushed for the organization's processes being updated on a regular basis to reflect the policies and directives given by various Government agencies.

Numerous activities were carried out throughout the week-long Vigilance Awareness Week (October 31–November 7, 2022) in line with the theme, including holding seminars, workshops, debate competitions, a quiz for employees, and various activities for students at Delhi Technological University and Satyawati College, University of Delhi. IREDA has also launched a "Complaints Portal" as part of ‘Vigilance Awareness Week 2022’, which is accessible through the IREDA website.

Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency Ltd. (IREDA) organized a speech competition today, at Satyawati College (Evening), University of Delhi, as a part of "Vigilance Awareness Week 2022." On this occasion, Shri Pradip Kumar Das, CMD, IREDA addressed students at the college in presence of Ms. Manisha Saxena, CVO, IREDA, Dr. Vijay Shankar Mishra, Principal, Satyawati College (Evening) and other senior officials.

CMD, IREDA mentioned the Hon’ble Prime Minister's address at Vigyan Bhawan on 3rd November, 2022, “the campaign of Vigilance Awareness Week is taking place to realise the dreams and aspirations of a corruption-free India and underlined its importance in the lives of every citizen.” He added that IREDA is dedicated to "Zero Tolerance Against Corruption" and has taken all possible steps to combat corruption and improve accountability to the stakeholders of the company.

Shri Das emphasised that the battle against corruption should not be restricted to Vigilance Awareness Week and is not only a one-week affair. He stated that, as corruption obstructs nation progress, every citizen has a responsibility to combat it collectively. The students can serve as flag bearers in the fight against corruption, he continued.

CMD, IREDA urged the students to follow their dreams and not to overlook their areas of strength and interest. He inspired them to discover their self and work on what makes them happy. Shri Das also encouraged students to maintain good physical and mental health.

Shri Pradip Kumar Das, Chairman & Managing Director (CMD), today flagged off second “Therapy-on-Wheels”, a mobile medical van for children with disabilities as part of IREDA’s CSR initiatives. “Therapy-on-Wheels” was awarded as an innovative practice in accessibility at the Zero Conferences at UN Headquarters in Austria in February 2022.

CMD, IREDA handed-over the keys of mobile medical van to Samphia Foundation (a Kullu based NGO) in presence of senior officials. “Therapy-on-Wheels”, a well-equipped therapy setup provide Physiotherapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy to children with disabilities. The Therapy Van actively promotes disability awareness and education. An in-built projector helps in educating the local population on the importance of early detection and intervention of disabilities. The Therapy bus goes to villages where children are located and provide therapy intervention to children at their doorsteps.

Speaking on the occasion, Shri Das reaffirmed that, as a responsible public sector company, IREDA is committed to social causes in empowering differently abled children apart from the development of the Renewable Energy sector. CMD, IREDA praised the efforts of the company's CSR Team and Samphia Foundation for this innovative project in Kullu and Shimla and stated that similar efforts would continue in the future.

IREDA has provided 1st “Therapy-on-Wheels” bus to Samphia Foundation in November 2020. More than 1750 therapy sessions have been conducted in 61 villages of Kullu, Himachal Pradesh through this mobile medical van.

Shri Pradip Kumar Das, Chairman & Managing Director (CMD), Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency Ltd. (IREDA), had a meeting with Shri V. Senthil Balaji, Hon’ble Electricity, Prohibition & Excise Minister of Tamil Nadu, today at Chennai. The meeting was aimed at discussing the growth of Renewable Energy in Tamil Nadu and offering IREDA’s financing support for the state as well as private sector developers.

CMD, IREDA briefed him on the company's recent accomplishments, important initiatives, and future plans for the RE sector's expansion in line with the Government of India's target of 50% share of energy from non-fossil fuels by 2030. During the meeting, Shri Das reiterated that IREDA is committed to mitigating the climate change effects by promoting Renewable Energy generation in the country through financing support.

CMD, IREDA stated that Tamil Nadu has a wealth of Renewable Energy sources such as Solar, Wind, Biomass, Biogas and Hydro, etc. Therefore, IREDA is keen to fund more RE projects in the state and explore opportunities for new and emerging RE technologies like Offshore Wind and Green Hydrogen, etc.

Last year, IREDA has signed an MoU with the Tamil Nadu Generation & Distribution Corporation Limited (TANGEDCO), for providing its technical expertise in developing Renewable Energy projects and fund raising.

Earlier during the day, CMD also visited IREDA’s Branch office at Chennai and reviewed the various activities carried out by IREDA in the Southern Region. He also advised IREDA officials posted at Chennai office to take up more activities for brand building and public awareness so that the stakeholders can have easy access of the benefits for the fastest RE Development.

Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency Ltd. (IREDA), a PSU under the Ministry of New & Renewable Energy (MNRE), today launched a ‘Complaints Portal’, as a part of ‘Vigilance Awareness Week 2022’, which is accessible through IREDA website. The portal was launched by Shri Pradip Kumar Das, Chairman & Managing Director (CMD), IREDA, in presence of Shri Chintan Shah, Director (Technical), Ms. Manisha Saxena, CVO, IREDA, and other senior officials.

The portal has been developed by IT Team of the company keeping in view the ease of access for making any complaints related to IREDA’s working practices. The portal ensures transparency of complaints redressal with better monitoring of all the complaints as received by IREDA.

Launching the portal, Shri Pradip Kumar Das, CMD, IREDA highlighted that the Complaints Portal is another crucial step in IREDA’s "Zero Tolerance" of corruption and enabling “Ease of Doing Business”. A Whistle-Blower Portal was introduced by IREDA last year. Reiterating the Good and Clean Governance policy of the company, Shri Das said, "Rashtriya Ekta Diwas" is an appropriate occasion to launch this portal. Guided by the vision of the Hon’ble Prime Minister, it was decided in 2014 to celebrate the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel (the Iron Man of India) viz. 31st October as "Rashtriya Ekta Diwas”, to reinforce our dedication to preserving and strengthening the unity, integrity, and security of the nation.

Earlier in the day, CMD and Director (Technical), IREDA administered the Integrity Pledge to all employees of the company in presence of CVO and other Senior Management to mark the beginning of ‘Vigilance Awareness Week 2022’. During the week-long Vigilance Awareness campaign (31st October to 7th November 2022), a number of activities will be carried out in line with the theme "Corruption free India for a developed Nation," including conducting seminars, workshops, debate competitions, quiz among employees, and several activities for students.

भारतीय अक्षय ऊर्जा विकास संस्था लिमिटेड (इरेडा) ने आज ‘आज़ादी का अमृत महोत्‍सव’ के तहत अगस्त क्रांति भवन, भीकाजी कामा प्लेस में एक भव्‍य ‘हिन्दी पुस्‍तक प्रदर्शनी’ का आयोजन किया। प्रदर्शनी का उद्घाटन इरेडा के अध्‍यक्ष एवं प्रबंध निदेशक (सीएमडी) श्री प्रदीप कुमार दास ने निदेशक (तकनीकी), श्री चिंतन शाह, मुख्य सतर्कता अधिकारी, श्रीमती मनीषा सक्सेना एवं अन्य वरिष्ठ अधिकारियों की उपस्थिति में किया।

इस अवसर पर श्री कुमार पाल शर्मा, उप निदेशक (कार्यान्‍वयन), राजभाषा विभाग भी उपस्‍थित थे। इरेडा के सीएमडी ने अपने सम्‍बोधन में आदरणीय प्रधानमंत्री श्री नरेंद्र मोदी का वक्तृत्व दोहराया, “आजादी का अमृत महोत्सव का अर्थ स्वतंत्रता की ऊर्जा का अमृत है। इसका अर्थ हुआ स्वतंत्रता संग्राम के योद्धाओं की प्रेरणाओं का अमृत; नए विचारों और संकल्पों का अमृत और आत्मनिर्भरता का अमृत।“ श्री दास ने आगे कहा, “हमें भारत की स्‍वतंत्रता प्राप्‍ति में शहीदों के बलिदान को याद करते हुए अपनी जिम्‍मेदारियों एवं कर्त्‍तव्‍यों का पूर्ण रूपेण निर्वाह करना चाहिए।“ उन्होने सभी इरेडा कर्मियों को पुस्तकें पढ़ने के लिए प्रेरित किया, जिससे उनके ज्ञान और प्रदर्शन में और ज्यादा सुधार होगा और मानसिक संतुष्टि मिलेगी।

प्रदर्शनी में स्‍वतंत्रता सेनानियों की बलिदान गाथा एवं प्रसिद्ध रचनाकारों की रचनाएं एवं जीवन परिचय को प्रदर्शित करने के साथ-साथ इरेडा में हिंदी के वातावरण के निर्माण एवं प्रगामी प्रगति हेतु पुस्‍तकों के क्रय के लिए कुछ प्रकाशकों की पुस्‍तकें तथा ‘पुस्‍तक सूची’ आदि भी प्रदर्शित की गई। इरेडा कर्मियों के साथ-साथ अगस्‍त क्रांति भवन स्‍थित अन्‍य विभागों के अधिकारियों ने भी इस प्रदर्शनी का लाभ उठाया।

Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency Ltd. (IREDA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), Government of India, setting annual performance target for the year 2021-22. The MOU was signed by Shri Indu Shekhar Chaturvedi, Secretary, MNRE and Shri Pradip Kumar Das, Chairman & Managing Director (CMD), IREDA today in the presence of senior officials from MNRE & IREDA.

Govt. of India has set a target ₹ 2,749 crores for Revenue from Operation under ‘Excellent’ rating along with various performance-related key parameters such as Return on Net Worth, NPA to total Loans, Asset Turnover Ratio and Earning per share etc.

IREDA has been rated ‘Excellent’ for the MoU of FY 2020-21 with a score of 96.93. The company as on date, has financed more than 2900 Renewable Energy projects loan accounts with cumulative loan sanction and disbursement to the tune of ₹ 1,08,606 crores & ₹ 69,951 crores respectively and has supported green power capacity addition of 19,463 MW in the country.

With additional equity infusion of ₹ 1,500 crores by the Government of India, IREDA is poised for exponential growth in coming years in the Renewable Energy (RE) Sector. IREDA would be able to extend an additional loan facility of ₹ 12,000 crores (approx.) and contributing more to the GoI targets for RE. Post equity infusion of ₹1,500 crores, IREDA is also planning to come out with Initial Public Offer (IPO) to meet its further requirement of capital.

Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency (IREDA), a PSU under the Ministry of New & Renewable Energy (MNRE), today announced audited financial results for 9 months ended 31st December 2021. The company has posted a total income from operations of Rs. 2,136.64. crore and Profit After Tax (PAT) of Rs. 407.09 crore for 9 months ended 31st December 2021.

The Board of Directors of IREDA approved the Audited Financial Results for the 9 months ended 31st December 2021 in a meeting held today, while lauding the company’s exemplary performance and growth.

The following are the highlights of the nine-month results that ended 31st December 2021:
• Profit After Tax: Rs. 407.09 crores.
• Total Income from Operations: Rs. 2,136.64 crores.
• Net-worth: 3,521.56 crores.

Highlights of Q3, FY 2021-22 as compared to the corresponding period during FY 2020–21 are as follows:
• Loan Sanction: 1439.33 crores against Rs. 1281.22 crores (Up by 12%)
• Loan Disbursement: 1484.84 crores against Rs. 777.88 crores (Up by 91%)

Shri Pradip Kumar Das, Chairman & Managing Director (CMD), IREDA, said: "Rs. 407.09 crores is the highest ever PAT in the history of the company, not only for the period of 9 months, but also even considering the annual profit of the company in the past. Therefore, IREDA has reported its highest ever PAT of Rs. 407.09 crores.”

CMD, IREDA highlighted that this would not have been possible without the contribution of Team IREDA, who worked untiringly and passionately. He conveyed his sincere gratitude to Shri R K Singh, Hon’ble Union Minister of Power, New and Renewable Energy and Shri Bhagwanth Khuba, Hon’ble Minister of State, New & Renewable Energy, Chemicals & Fertilizers, for their continuous guidance and support. Shri Das also conveyed his gratitude for the abiding support received by the company from the Secretary & other officials of MNRE and the Board of Directors.

Shri Shabdsharan Brahmbhatt has been appointed as an independent director on the board of the Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency Ltd. (IREDA) for a three-year term, with effect from January 28th, 2022.

Shri Brahmbhatt is a social worker and a lawyer by profession. Apart from L.L.B, he also has a graduation degree in Commerce.

Welcoming the new member to the board, Shri Pradip Kumar Das, Chairman & Managing Director (CMD), IREDA said, "It is a privilege to have Shri Brahmbhatt join IREDA as an independent director. We believe that his guidance in undertaking key decisions will greatly benefit IREDA in achieving its five-time growth target in the next five years. Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency Ltd. (IREDA) today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Goa Shipyard Ltd to provide its techno-financial expertise to set-up a rooftop solar power project. The two companies are PSUs under the Ministry of New & Renewable Energy and the Ministry of Defence, respectively.

The MoU was signed by Shri Pradip Kumar Das, Chairman & Managing Director (CMD), IREDA and Cmde. Bharat Bhushan Nagpal, CMD, GSL in the presence of senior officials.

Under the MoU, IREDA will assist GSL to set-up a rooftop solar power project at the headquarter of the company situated in Vasco da Gama, Goa. IREDA will also extend its techno-commercial expertise to GSL for Environmental & Social (E&S) due diligence of rooftop solar and other RE projects as per the internationally accepted E&S standards. After setting up a rooftop solar power project at its building, GSL will be able to bring down the expenditure on electricity and reduce its carbon footprint as well.

Speaking on the collaboration, Shri Pradip Kumar Das, CMD, IREDA said, "We are pleased to partner with GSL in their pursuit towards adoption of a clean energy solution. The partnership is expected to bring in good practices by leveraging the expertise of both the companies and to push the vision of the Hon’ble Prime Minister for sustainable development of the country through Green Energy. The Govt. of India aims to produce 40 GW of solar power through rooftop solar by the end of 2022, and these collaborations will enable us to contribute to meeting the targets set by the Govt. of India."

In order to cater to the increasing demand of the RE sector, a dedicated Business Development and Consultancy division was set up by IREDA one and a half years ago. Under the new division, this is the seventh MoU signed by IREDA within the last 14 months to provide its consultancy services for developers of RE and Energy transition. Earlier, IREDA had entered into MoUs with SJVN, NHPC, TANGEDCO, NEEPCO, BVFCL, and THDCIL to extend its Techno-Financial expertise for Green Energy projects.

IREDA is looking forward to extending its consulting services to other PSUs and private organisations for the overall growth of the RE sector.

He further also highlighted that during the last two years, IREDA has taken various initiatives in the larger interest of RE sector such as reduction in lending rates, fortnightly review meetings for monitoring & recovery, simplification of sanction/disbursement & documentation process, quarterly interaction with customers & business partners and introduction of several new financing schemes and products.

CMD also underlined that manpower is the most valuable asset for IREDA. Therefore, IREDA is committed to optimizing the potential of its human resource by introducing conducive work policies that facilitate work-life balance, thereby enabling the workforce to focus on the achievement of the company’s strategic goals by ensuring a high level of productivity. The company is continuously conducting lecture series and focused development training programs on weekly and fortnightly basis with the help of in-house and external experts.

Shri Das reaffirmed that post equity infusion, IREDA is fully geared to come out with the IPO. Concluding his address, he motivated all IREDANs to work with a consistent approach and with vision of “Once IREDA, Always IREDA”.
