Icelanders narrowly rejected reopening EU membership talks last weekend 😢. Yet Iceland is already closely connected to Europe. It is a member of the European Free Trade Association (EFTA), which means trade and people are free to move accross borders - but Iceland has no vote on EU policies and laws.

Greenland, meanwhile, has a different setup entirely: Greenland is an autonomous territory within the Kingdom of Denmark with its own parliament and government. While Greenlanders retain full European Citizenship, they have an Overseas Country and Territory status with the European Union and remain outside the EU Single Market. 🙃

ໃນວັນສຸກ ທີ 21 ສິງຫາ 2026, ພວກເຮົາໄດ້ຮ່ວມກັບບັນດາຄູ່ຮ່ວມງານລາວ ສະຫຼອງການສຳເລັດໄລຍະທີ 1 ຂອງ ໂຄງການຄຸ້ມຄອງປ່າໄມ້ຂັ້ນບ້ານ, ທີ່ດຳເນີນງານໂດຍທະນາຄານ KfW Development Bank.

ໂຄງການນີ້ໄດ້ສະແດງໃຫ້ເຫັນວ່າ ການຄຸ້ມຄອງປ່າໄມ້ຢ່າງຍືນຍົງ ສາມາດເດີນຄຽງຄູ່ກັບການເສີມສ້າງຊຸມຊົນທ້ອງຖິ່ນ ແລະ ການອະນຸລັກຊີວະນາໆພັນໄດ້.

🌳 Celebrating a milestone for forest protection in Laos

On Friday, 21 August 2026, together with our Lao partners we celebrated the successful completion of phase one of the Village Forestry Management Project, implemented by KfW Development Bank.

The project has demonstrated how sustainable forest management can go hand in hand with strengthening local communities and protecting biodiversity.

It is an important contribution to safeguarding Lao PDR`s valuable forest resources through community-led forest management for future generations.

We are proud of this joint achievement and grateful to all partners and communities involved for their commitment and cooperation.

We look forward to continuing our close partnership with Lao PDR to protect forests, conserve biodiversity and promote sustainable livelihoods in the next phase of the project.
