| Supporting Climate-Resilient Drainage Planning in Georgetown

Recently, the GGGI local team joined technical counterparts from the National Drainage and Irrigation Authority (NDIA) for a field visit in Georgetown to observe the drainage and irrigation network.

The activity supported knowledge building and awareness on nature-based approaches through practical learning on how geospatial tools and Nature-based Solutions (NbS) can inform drainage planning by connecting technical discussions with real-world conditions.

This forms part of project activities to strengthen technical capacity under โ€œTowards Developing a Strategic, Sustainable, Integrated National Drainage and Irrigation System in Guyana,โ€ building on a recent workshop that examined the Data Collection and Infrastructure Prioritization System.

Through ongoing collaboration with NDIA, GGGI is supporting efforts to advance Guyanaโ€™s adaptation and resilience.
