Ministry Of Gender, Children And Social Protection-Liberia Conduct Joint Monitoring Visit in Rural Montserrado

Yesterday, the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection, through its Liberia Women Empowerment Project (LWEP) - Project Management Unit, together with the World Bank and key service providers, conducted a joint monitoring visit to beneficiaries in Rural Montserrado. The visit aimed to assess progress made over time, identify existing challenges, and provide the necessary support to ensure sustainable outcomes for women-led businesses.

The team visited Frank Town Community, where they met six VSLAs: Fahn Gorto Town Saving Club, Kesseh Town, Wortor, Kwakutor, Wellekamah, and Degigi, along with Mamie Jessie-Individual Enterprise.

In Diamond Creek Community, the team reviewed VSLA records and praised members for cooperation and proper record keeping. Madam A.C. Flomo shared that LWEP grant support helped her start gardening and selling dry goods, improving her family’s livelihood.

Beneficiaries thanked the Government of Liberia through for improving women’s lives and expanding business opportunities.

MGCSP Strengthens Community Engagement Through LWEP Orientation in Zwedru City

The Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection, through the Liberia Women Empowerment Project, on Friday the 12th of June held a Community Orientation Meeting at Zwedru Market Community, Zone Two, Zwedru City.
The meeting brought together 60 participants (58 women and 2 men). During the session, 33 Individual Enterprises were identified, while no VSLA, FBO, livelihood group, health facility, court, or school was mapped.

The Ministry remains committed to empowering women and strengthening community participation through LWEP.

Strengthening GBV prevention and response under LWEP!

The Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection, through the Liberia Women Empowerment Project, has begun a three-day Gender-Based Violence Core Concept Modules Review and Validation Workshop at Kendeja Resort Hotel.

The three day workshop brings together government, non-governmental partners, and key stakeholders to review and validate core modules aimed at strengthening GBV prevention and response programming.

Day one featured an overview by Marian L. Rogers, Lead Gender Specialist for LWEP, followed by group working sessions and presentations on key modules, including GBV, Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights, Psychological First Aid, and foundational concepts.

Together, we are building stronger systems to protect women, girls, and communities.

When Women Are Empowered, Families Grow Stronger, and Communities Move Forward

Hope is growing stronger for women in Robertsport, Grand Cape Mount County.

The beneficiary groups include Dependable Women VSLA #1, #2, and #3, Robertsport Women VSLA, Women of Success VSLA, and Women of Substance VSLA #1. Each group received US$24,000 in business grants to expand their livelihoods, strengthen women-led businesses, and support their families.
