Kia orana 👋 This week it is Cook Island Language Week. We were so lucky today to have Atuitui Charitable Trust/ Te Vaka O Te Uki Community in to perform for our tamariki today. There were some fantastic skills shown through audience participation and our very own students performing as part of the very talented group.

We are a school of many talents and are lucky to have Whaea Destiny as part of our staff. Destiny has been very busy behind the scenes performing in the recent hit stage show of Priscilla. This has required months of preparation, rehearsals, and performances during her “holidays”. We are so proud of how well you performed and it was great to see you showing your talents up there on stage.

Today we celebrate Principals' Day and everything that Alison does for us. We are so lucky to have her at the helm leading us and encouraging us in everything that we do here at Whare-rā.

Our talented tamariki took some time to draw Alison and talk about all the amazing things she does.

Week one was a whirlwind of fun and learning. We have our science hub groups happening one afternoon a week and there were so many smiling faces walking out of school talking about all of the learning and activities they got to participate in.
We have rotations involving sound, flight, forces, magnetism, electronics, measuring, and learning about scientists so there will be some fun conversations to be had over the coming weeks.

Make sure you fill in your enrollment packs and get them in asap to the high schools.

And that's a wrap!
What a wonderful way to celebrate the Manaakitanga and Whakapono that all of our ākoka have shown during the first half of the year.
We all have our amazing Duffy Books to read over the holidays and our certificates to share with whanau.

Today we started our science investigation hubs. There were fizzes, cloud gazing and rock exploration happening across all the ages. The students and teachers alike were engaged and learning through lots of hands on experiences.
