Join us on Waitangi Day at Whakatū Marae and Founders Heritage Park on Friday 6 February.

Things to know
💸 Please bring cash! Eftpos will be limited.
🏧 There is no cash available for withdrawal on site.
🚴 We encourage those attending to walk, bike, bus or carpool to the event.
🪑 Bring a chair or picnic blanket, seating will be limited in some areas.
♻️ We are working towards zero waste and encourage you to bring your own crockery and utensils. There will be some onsite.
💧 There will be water tanks and trailers on site to refill drink bottles

As part of Te Rā o Waitangi ki Whakatū, Te Here-ā-Nuku (Tenths) will be holding a workshop.

Join Karensa Johnston and Trustees from Te Here-ā-Nuku at Whakatū Marae this Waitangi Day for a workshop grounded in whenua, history, and collective connection.

This hui offers a space to reflect, learn, and engage with the ongoing significance of Te Tiriti o Waitangi through kōrero and shared experience.

This workshop will be taking place after the pōwhiri at 9:00am, all are welcome to come, listen and connect.

With proven experience in working with Māori and the ability to provide comprehensive tikanga Māori social work support for, individuals and whānau who have Māori rangatahi, tamariki and pēpē, within the designated Nelson and Tasman regions.
