Our vision at Stoke School is for your child to be a confident, connected, actively involved life long learner. Excellent Education Review Reports endorse our staff’s ability to provide the best education for your child through challenging and interesti

We provide many opportunities for your child to develop interests in sporting and cultural pursuits such as swimming lessons, guitar lessons, Kapa Haka, school band and school choir. Parent involvement in the support and facilitation of these programmes is appreciated and is part of our ethos as working in a partnership to develop the whole child. We provide family and community involvement in our many school activities during the year such as House Days, sports days and School Assemblies and invite you to come into the school and share in these.

We are very thankful for fabulous community members. Thanks to everyone who has been so supportive - we are looking forward to getting our bridge back.

Thank you

And from Langdon Construction:

'We’re a new business this year and very family focused with our own young children, so we understand how important school playgrounds are for local families and tamariki. We’re more than happy to help restore a space that brings so much joy to others in the community.'

Stoke School’s stolen bridge replaced by Nelson builders

Has anyone round Stoke seen our plank chain bridge. Stolen a week ago - no sign yet.

Yes - someone stole from our children’s playground. That is such a sad choice for our children and visitors to our school.

Painted in rainbow colours, we’d really appreciate any sightings.

Kia Ora-

looking for a good supply of native plantings for our restoration project for our native area - currently home to a few native birds.
Particularly interested if anyone knows of good quality, reasonably priced canopy type trees.

Who have you used and is good value with plants that have survived and thrived?

As you know we lost one of our totara at the front gate to theft so hence the hesitation to go nursery first where of course the price and quality is higher, but the risk of the fit and loss is also in mind.

Any tips and leads for value would be amazing.

We have gardeners aged 5-11years keen to plant and nurture these plants. 😃

As this is an ongoing project we are happy to wait - we just want to provide a great habitat for our native manu / birds, weta, lizards and anything else we can entice back to our place.
