Stoke Toy Library Our library is a fun environment where we lend good quality, fun and educational toys for your children, ages 0-8.

The Stoke Toy Library (Founded in 1983) is a community (Charitable and not for profit) run by a committee of volunteers, and a paid part-time Toy Librarian. We provide affordable access to a variety of toys encouraging child development, education through play and positive family interaction while fostering wider community spirit. We are part of the national network of toy libraries guided by The

Toy Library Federation of New Zealand. How Much Does It Cost To Join The Toy Library? There are seven types of membership, and you can borrow up to 25 different toys every couple of weeks. Rostered Duty Membership

$30 for 3 Months (1 duty required)
$50 for 6 Months (2 duties required)
$80 for 12 Months (4 duties required)

Community Services Card Holders Membership

$25 for 3 Months (1 duty required)
$40 for 6 Months (2 duties required)
$60 for 12 Months (4 duties required)

You will be required to help during a session once every 3 months for 1 hour. Duties need to be booked at the time of signing up. Non Duty Membership

$65 for 3 Months
$100 for 6 Months
$175 for 12 Months

Community Services Card Holder Membership - Non Duty

$50 for 3 Months
$80 for 6 Months
$150 for 12 Months

One off Hire:
$20 for 2 weeks hire

At home Educators:
$120 for a 12 month non duty membership

Grandparent Hire:
$60 for a 12 months no duty membership (5 hires sessions per year)

We don't charge a fee per toy, so your membership fee is the only fee you pay. We don't have limits on the amount of toys you can take out (within reason). We also hire out:
Bouncy Castle
Kids Party Table and Chair Sets
Themed Party Packs

Cash Only and Drivers Licence for ID required for sign up

☀️ What a fantastic afternoon at Stoke Toy Library! ☀️

We recently had the pleasure of hosting a local SPACE group and loved welcoming everyone to the toy library. The sunshine was out, some of our toys were set up on the lawn, and families had free range to explore everything the toy library has to offer.

It was wonderful to meet some potential new members, share what makes our toy library so special, and see children enjoying play, exploration, and connection together.

A big thank you to everyone who came along and spent the afternoon with us!
