Some of our year 2 & 3 students attended a non-stop cricket festival at Bryan Heath Park yesterday. They had an awesome time smashing balls, fielding and running. Many thanks to the parents that supported the event and Cricket Wellington.

Lost property will be out on any fine day during Week 7 and 8 (over the next 2 weeks). Please have a look to see if there are any of your child's belongings. Thank you.

Last day for lost property will be Wednesday of Week 8.
Any remaing items will be donated to charity.

We really try to return lost items. Please ensure anything bought to school is named - clothing, hats, bikes, scooters, helmets etc.
If it has a name in it it will get back to its owner ASAP. We have over 200 children at school and its not easy to remember who owns what.

Don't forget your crazy socks on Friday and your coins for the raffle! Today we wanted to highlight one of the special items in the raffle box. These cookies were hand made by Toby's very talented bonus nan, Tracey McNeil, to support World Down Syndrome Day. They even have the logo printed on them! Thank you so much, Tracey, they look delicious!

Today, a group of Year 5 and 6 students attended an athletics event at Wainuiomata High School, where they participated in a range of activities including discus, vortex, high jump, 100 metre sprints, relay, shot put, broad jump, the egg and spoon race, and a game of Kī-o-rahi led by the high school students.

The day was all about fun and participation, and we certainly had plenty of both!

We would like to extend a special thank you to the high school for organising such an enjoyable event for our tamariki, and to our wonderful parent helpers (Andrea, Andrew, Lou, Nikki, and Santy) for their support throughout the day.

This Friday, 20 March, we will be celebrating World Down Syndrome Day, also known as 'Lots of Socks' day, as a wonderful new student with Down Syndrome has joined our school whānau! Last week in Assembly we started learning about Down Syndrome and I shared some of the fun things we will be doing this week. On Friday wear your craziest socks (you can wear brightly coloured socks, odd socks, decorated socks or even your favourite ones!) If the weather is fine we will be going on a whole school hikoi around the block wearing our fabulous socks (perfect for Movin' March), and there will be sock related activities in the classes. There will be a colouring competition with prizes for each of the syndicates, and an optional raffle at the gate on Friday morning to raise money for a donation to the NZ Down Syndrome Association (Tickets will be $1 each or 3 for $2). Start planning those crazy socks today, I've got mine but can't decide between Spongebob and Patrick!
