WORK OF COMMITTEES | Public Hearings

THE Permanent Parliamentary Committee on Citizenship Matters will conduct a two-day Public Hearings from Tuesday 11 to Wednesday 12 August 2026 at the State Function Room, Parliament House.

The hearings will bring together senior representatives from key government agencies, including Immigration & Citizenship Services Authority, Investment Promotion Authority, PNG Customs Services, Department of Labour & Industrial Relations, RPNGC, PNG Defence Force and National Intelligence Organisation.
On Wednesday, the Committee will hear from the Department of Justice & Attorney General, Office of the Public Prosecutor, Bank of PNG and Department of Foreign Affairs, followed by oral submissions from the PNG Diaspora Business Council of Australia.

THIS WEEK IN PARLIAMENT | 42nd Anniversary of the Papua New Guinea Parliament House.

This week, we look back at some of the memorable moments from last year's 41st Anniversary celebrations as we commemorate 42 years of the People's House serving the people of Papua New Guinea.

Last year's anniversary featured a series of significant events, including the Parliamentary Sponsored National Essay and Poetry Competition, the recognition of our Pioneer Legislators, the unveiling of the Unity Statue, and the burial of the Time Capsule as part of Papua New Guinea's Golden Jubilee commemorations.
Join us as we reflect on these milestone moments that celebrated our parliamentary heritage and honored the enduring service of the People's House since its opening.
