Pagtatatag ng ERQES School Garden sa Ilalim ng National Urban and Peri Urban Agriculture Program (NUPAP)

Sa layuning maisulong ang urban agriculture at mapalakas ang kamalayan ng kahalagahan ng pagtatanim, isang makabuluhang hakbang ngayong araw ang inilunsad ng Department of Agriculture โ€“ Bureau of Plant Industry (DA-BPI) Baguio National Crop Research, Development and Production Support Center (BNCRDPSC).

Elpidio R. Quirino Elementary School (ERQES) community demonstrated preparedness and discipline as all learners, teachers, and school personnel were safely evacuated following a magnitude 4.5 earthquake that struck at approximately 2:33 p.m. on July 9.

Immediately after the tremor was felt, the school activated its emergency response protocol, with learners and personnel executing the "Duck, Cover, and Hold" procedure before proceeding in an orderly manner to the designated evacuation area.

Teachers and non-teaching personnel conducted a systematic headcount to ensure that every learner was accounted for. As a precautionary measure, learners remained in the evacuation area and were not allowed to return to their classrooms until the school's Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM) Coordinator declared the premises safe. Learners were subsequently released only to their respective parents or authorized guardians.

Responding promptly to the incident, personnel from Police Station 9 assisted in the evacuation and conducted an inspection of the school grounds to assess possible structural damage and verify the absence of casualties.

The coordinated response of the school, Police Station 9, parents, and guardians underscored the importance of disaster preparedness and collective responsibility in safeguarding the welfare of learners.

School officials confirmed that all learners, teaching and non-teaching personnel, and staff were safe following the incident.

The recent earthquake that affected Saranggani served as a reminder that disaster preparedness should never be taken for granted. In response, the school actively participated in the Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) on June 17, 2026, to strengthen the preparedness and safety of both learners and personnel.

Prior to the drill, the School Head convened all grade-level coordinators and the Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM) coordinator to discuss the plans, procedures, and designated evacuation areas. The meeting focused on ensuring the safety and orderly movement of everyone during emergency situations.

When the drill commenced, learners and teachers from different grade levels demonstrated seriousness and cooperation by following the prescribed safety protocols and instructions. Participants practiced proper earthquake response procedures and proceeded calmly to their assigned evacuation areas.

The successful conduct of the drill highlighted the importance of readiness, coordination, and awareness in minimizing risks during emergencies. School officials emphasized that regular disaster preparedness activities help build a culture of safety and resilience within the school community.

June 6, 2026 || Northern Pines Construction and Development Corporation Extends Assistance to 100 Families Through School Supplies and Grocery Distribution

In celebration of his birthday, Lama Sabado, President and Chief Executive Officer of Northern Pines Construction and Development Corporation, shared his blessings with 100 families through the distribution of school supplies and grocery packages in a community outreach activity aimed at supporting education and household needs.

The initiative was made possible through the coordination of Engr. Ron Sayowet, in partnership with Elpidio R. Quirino Elementary School, through the assistance of Ma'am Gemmalyn R. Dulipas. The activity brought together parents and learners in a meaningful gathering that highlighted the value of collaboration and social responsibility.

A short program was held before the distribution. Sir Mark Anthony Garcia led the opening prayer, and Sir Orden Cayso for the opening remarks. The learners, parents, and teachers present had an opportunity to wish Sir Lama Sabado a Happy Birthday through singing the birthday song, and parents also expressed their heartfelt gratitude for the assistance received. Many acknowledged that the school supplies would help ease their children's preparation for the school year, while the grocery packages would provide much-needed support for their families.

The outreach activity reflects Northern Pines Construction and Development Corporation's continuing commitment to community development and corporate social responsibility. By transforming a personal milestone into an opportunity to serve others, Lama Sabado demonstrated the spirit of generosity and compassion, inspiring hope and goodwill among the beneficiaries.
