INHS Launches ARAL Classes

Irisan National High School (INHS) officially commenced the first day of classes for the Academic Recovery and Accessible Learning (ARAL) Program last July 30, marking another step in strengthening learners' foundational literacy skills.

The program initially opened eight classes for Filipino and ten classes for Reading, while six Mathematics classes are scheduled to begin in August. Learners enrolled in the ARAL Program were identified based on the results of the Philippine Informal Reading Inventory (Phil-IRI) Oral Reading Assessment and the ARAL pre-test, ensuring that students who require additional academic support receive focused intervention.

The ARAL classes for Filipino and Reading are administered every Thursday at three in the afternoon while Friday is scheduled for Mathematics classes.

Through targeted instruction and remediation, the program aims to improve learners' reading proficiency, comprehension, and overall academic performance in preparation for regular classroom learning.

Parents and guardians expressed their full support for the initiative, recognizing the importance of the program in helping their children overcome learning gaps. Many shared their optimism that the additional learning sessions will boost their children's confidence, strengthen their literacy skills, and contribute to their academic success.

With the successful launch of the Filipino and Reading classes, the school looks forward to the opening of the Mathematics component in August, completing the implementation of this year's ARAL Program and reaffirming INHS's commitment to providing quality, inclusive, and learner-centered education.

INHS ARAL Program Coordinator Rosemarie Kidian, hopes that many or all of the ARAL learners will demonstrate significant progress through the intervention and successfully graduate from the ARAL Program at the end of the first trimester.

The school administration also expressed its gratitude to the dedicated teachers who serve as ARAL tutors. Their commitment, patience, and willingness to extend their time and expertise.

INHS Welcomes New Leaders Through Induction and Oath-Taking Ceremony for SPTA, HPTA, SSLG Officers, and Student Organizations

Newly elected officers of Student Supreme Learner Government (SSLG), Supreme Parent-Teacher Association (SPTA), Homeroom Parent-Teacher Association (HPTA), school clubs, and classroom organizations officially took their oath during the Induction and Oath-Taking Ceremony at Irisan National High School covered court last July 23.

Assistant Schools Division Superintendent (ASDS) Samuel Jr. T. Egsaen administered the Oath Taking Ceremony of the SPTA and HPTA officers while Lourdes B. Lomas-e, Public Schools District Supervisor (PSDS), inducted the newly elected student leaders.

ASDS Egsaen underscored the importance of adaptive leadership, saying that effective leaders must be prepared to lead from the front, alongside others, or from behind, depending on the needs of the people they serve. He also shared his journey from serving as a private school principal to becoming a public school teacher and principal, encouraging the newly inducted officers to embrace humility, perseverance, and dedication in carrying out their responsibilities.

The SGC President, SPTA President and SSLG President also delivered their message of commitment emphasizing unity, dedication and cooperation as a key to successful accomplishments for the school.

School Governance Council Co-Chairman Mario Bosongan emphasized that camaraderie among the parents, learners and the school administration will create an empowered school. school
The program opened with a doxology led by the Grade 12 Accountancy, Business, and Management (ABM) students, followed by welcome remarks from Principal Grace M. Domingo, who emphasized the importance of responsible leadership and active participation in strengthening the school community.
The ceremony brought together school administrators, teachers, student leaders, and parents in a symbolic commitment to servant leadership, collaboration, and shared responsibility in advancing the school's programs and initiatives.

The induction and oath taking program concluded with messages of commitment from the newly sworn officers, closing remarks, and a group photo featuring the inductees, school officials, and invited guests, marking the beginning of their term of service for the school year.

Strengthening Safe, Inclusive, and Supportive Schools

Last July 16, 2026, our school successfully conducted a School Learning Action Cell (SLAC) Session focused on DepEd Order No. 006, s. 2026, entitled "Guidelines on Ensuring a Safe and Motivating Learning Environment (ESMLE)."

The activity served as a valuable venue for teachers and school personnel to deepen their understanding of the Department of Education's commitment to creating learning environments that are safe, inclusive, child-friendly, and conducive to holistic learner development. Participants discussed the key provisions of the policy, emphasizing the protection of learners' rights, the promotion of positive discipline, the prevention of bullying and discrimination, and the establishment of supportive school practices that nurture both academic excellence and well-being.

Throughout the session, teachers actively shared insights, experiences, and best practices that contribute to a culture of respect, empathy, and collaboration within the school community. The discussion highlighted the vital role of every educator in ensuring that learners feel secure, valued, and motivated to achieve their fullest potential.

As we continue to uphold the principles of DepEd Order No. 006, s. 2026, our school remains steadfast in its commitment to fostering a learning environment where every child can learn, grow, and thrive in a safe and supportive atmosphere.

We extend our appreciation to all participants for their active engagement and dedication to promoting learner welfare and educational excellence.

2026 Nutrition Month Celebration
"Nutrisyon at Kalikasan, Ating Pangalagaan!"

Irisan National High School is one with the National Nutrition Council in celebrating Nutrition Month 2026 with the theme, "Sa PPAN, Sama-Sama sa Nutrisyong Sapat Para sa Lahat" and this year's sub-theme, "Nutrisyon at Kalikasan, Ating Pangalagaan!"

This celebration highlights the vital connection between good nutrition and environmental protection. Climate change affects food production and access to nutritious food, while sustainable food systems help ensure food security and better health for all. By promoting climate-resilient agriculture, reducing food waste, and supporting sustainable food practices, we can protect both our health and our environment.

Immediate Evacuation Ensures Safety at Irisan National High School After Earthquake

Students, teachers, and school personnel of Irisan National High School immediately evacuated to the school grounds after a 4.5-magnitude earthquake struck at approximately 2:33 in the afternoon.

The school promptly activated its earthquake emergency protocols, allowing learners and employees to move calmly and orderly to the designated evacuation area. School officials confirmed that all students, teaching and non-teaching personnel were safely accounted for following the evacuation.

While the evacuation was carried out successfully, a few students experienced nausea after the tremor. They were immediately attended to by school personnel to ensure their well-being.

To strengthen the school's emergency response, personnel from Police Station 9, the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), and the Irisan Barangay Rescue Team were deployed to the campus to assist in monitoring the situation and ensuring the safety of everyone.

Meanwhile, Irisan Barangay Captain Arthur Carlos personally conducted a round of the school to assess the situation and check on the condition of the learners, teachers, and staff following the earthquake.

The incident highlighted the school's preparedness and the importance of regular earthquake drills and established safety protocols, which contributed to the orderly evacuation and the protection of the entire school community.

📢 SCHOOL ADVISORY 📢

In light of the earthquake that occurred yesterday, we understand the concerns of our learners, parents, and guardians regarding today's classes.

As of today, Irisan National High School is implementing the HAYO Protocol and resuming normal face-to-face classes. With no Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal (TCWS) raised in our area and no official advisories suspending classes, face-to-face classes will proceed as scheduled.

The safety and well-being of our learners and personnel remain our top priority. We will continue to closely monitor updates and official advisories from the relevant authorities and will keep our school community informed of any developments.
