The second day was held on May 26, 2026, at the Baguio City Public Library, continuing the workshop-seminar, "Libraries as Stewards of Cultural Heritage: A Capacity Building and Community Engagement," under the same month-long theme: "Roots and Horizons: Our Shared Heritage, Our Collective Future."
Welcome remarks and an overview of the training workshop were delivered by Ms. Easter Wahayna-Pablo, President of ALPS. A message was given by Dr. Benhur A. Asid, Head of NCCA-NCLIS.
The morning session consisted of three lectures. Mr. Michael A. Pinto, Provincial Librarian of Cagayan Provincial Learning and Resource Center, spoke on cultural heritage and the role of libraries. Mr. Brensen Bengwayan, Local Culture Action Officer of LGU Baguio, discussed oral history documentation and community memory preservation.
Mr. Nino Kevin Baclig, Museum Curator of Cagayan Museum and Historical Research Center, presented on creating heritage exhibits, covering the writing of labels, narratives, and interpretive content. Each lecture was followed by an open forum.
The afternoon workshops were hands-on and output-based. Workshop 1 on oral history interview simulation and documentation exercises was facilitated by Onofre G. Dacocot Jr, Librarian I of Baguio City Public Library. Workshop 2 on writing exhibit labels and heritage narratives for local collections was facilitated by Catalina B. Oloan, Librarian II of Baguio City Public Library.
Workshop 3 on localized heritage program planning for libraries and communities was facilitated by Nowe Chapichap, Librarian III of Baguio City Public Library. Each workshop was followed by a presentation of outputs.
The program closed with insights, synthesis, and closing remarks delivered by Dr. Jonavie S. Quiambao, Vice-Head of NCLIS. The event was hosted by Masters of Ceremonies Joane Poala C. Tuazon and Lea S. Calara.
